Travis Kelce recently opened up about his engagement to Taylor Swift. The couple announced their engagement after two years of dating, and fans have been celebrating on social media. On his podcast, Kelce discussed how he’s feeling about his engagement. A body language expert said Kelce revealed both nerves and genuine happiness while discussing his upcoming marriage.

Travis Kelce spoke about his excitement about his engagement to Taylor Swift

In a recent episode of his New Heights podcast, Kelce discussed his engagement with his brother, Jason Kelce. He said he has been glad to share the happy news publicly.

“I appreciate everybody that reached out and sent something and all the posts and all the excitement that’s been going on,” he said. “It’s been really fun telling everybody who I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with.”

Kelce proposed in the backyard of his Kansas home, surrounded by flowers. He thought this was in line with what Swift would want, and offered advice to anyone looking to pop the question soon.

“Man, you’ve gotta know your gal,” he said. “You’ve gotta know your gal or your significant other. You’ve gotta know them. You can’t let how somebody else does it make you feel like you need to do it that way.”

He added that he has felt “giddy” anytime he introduces Swift as his fiancée.

A body language expert analyzed what Travis Kelce revealed while discussing her engagement

Kelce has spoken glowingly about his relationship with Swift, both before and after their engagement. It’s clear from his words that he cares deeply about her. Body language expert Joanne Pearson from British Lie Detector Test said Kelce’s actions tell a similar story.

“Travis beams when he talks about Taylor, and his smile is the biggest giveaway of his genuine happiness,” Pearson tells Showbiz Cheat Sheet in an email statement. “But alongside the excitement, you can see his nerves – the fidgeting hands, the quick gestures, the slight shift in his posture. It’s the behavior of a man who knows just how big this moment is.”

Pearson went on to add that Kelce’s smile when he speaks about Swift is entirely genuine.

“Kelce’s grin isn’t for cameras – it’s authentic,” she said. “His eyes crinkle and his cheeks rise in what’s known as a Duchenne smile, only triggered by real emotion. That tells us Taylor is at the center of his joy.”

Pearson said Kelce’s posture indicates pride in his relationship, but his clasped hands show that he feels “pressure.” To her, it’s clear that he feels the responsibility of taking this next step with Swift.

When discussing the proposal itself, Kelce gestured often. Pearson tells us that this shows his boundless excitement about his engagement.

“That restless energy signals excitement, but also nerves,” she explained. “It’s the behavior you often see when someone is reliving a huge life event – part joy, part disbelief that it’s really happening.”

Pearson said Kelce’s nerves are a good sign for the relationship, though.

“Travis Kelce’s body language shows a man deeply in love and proud to share it with the world,” Pearson said. “The nerves are natural – in fact, they make his emotions even more believable. He isn’t rehearsed, he isn’t playing a part. He’s a man who knows he’s found his partner for life – and his body language shows he’s already acting like the perfect husband.”

His proposal also shows how much he cherishes the relationship

Kelce revealed that he initially had plans for a more dramatic proposal “on water,” but decided that the garden setting was more fitting. While it feels like the couple’s every move is photographed, Pearson said Kelce’s proposal shows that they’re not just putting on an act for the camera.
