Travis Kelce’s Ex, Kayla Nicole, Subtly Shades Him While Revealing She Took ‘Full Responsibility’ for Their Shared Dogs
Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole, recently opened up about taking in the dogs she shared with him after their 2022 split. Kelce and Nicole had two dogs, Chauncey Gallagher Kelce The First and Rambo. She spoke about the responsibility and expense of taking care of them. She also subtly shaded Kelce while discussing how mature she found the ability to co-parent pets.
Travis Kelce’s ex said she took control of the couple’s dogs
Kelce and Nicole dated on and off between 2017 and 2022. In this time, they adopted two dogs together. After their breakup, Nicole took custody of both dogs. Nicole explained that this means she has had to take on all their expenses herself.
“I have dogs with the previous partner, and I got both the dogs,” she said on her podcast The Pre-Game (via People).
She added that she recently spent a hefty sum on her dogs. She asked guest Nazanin Mandi how she was able to share custody of her dogs with her ex-husband, Miguel.
“I had a dog bill the other day that was $2,000,” she said. “And I love my kids, but how did y’all come to that conclusion because that’s impressive.”
Mandi said they reached this arrangement “naturally,” which Nicole found impressive.
“That speaks to the relationship you guys still have,” she said. “That means you guys are in a good, healthy, safe space to be able to make adult decisions.”
This hints that Nicole doesn’t believe she has this type of relationship with Kelce since they were not able to reach the same arrangement.
Travis Kelce’s ex said facing hate after their relationship has been difficult
After his relationship with Nicole, Kelce began dating Taylor Swift. This has brought heightened attention to Nicole, and not all of it is positive. Swift’s fans have commented hatefully on Nicole’s social media posts. She shared how she deals with the online hate.
“When it becomes too much, I have to log out because it’s not the real world. Like there’s life happening beyond the internet,” Nicole said on the Straight to Cam podcast. “It becomes like a vacuum, too. It becomes so overwhelming you think that is like all that exists.”
She believes social media companies should do more to protect users against hate.
“I also think people need to start doing psych evaluations before you can create a new Instagram account with a fake profile and a weird picture,” she said.
He recently purchased guard dogs
Kelce has since welcomed two new dogs into his life. In October 2024, Kelce’s house was burglarized. He took steps to protect his home.
“Travis felt the urgency of taking care of this situation as soon as possible,” a source told The U.S. Sun. “It was very uncomfortable to deal with.”
He reportedly spent $9,000 on two guard dogs, a German Shepherd and an Anatolian Shepherd.
