‘Vanderpump Rules’ Fans Say This Moment of the Reboot Finally Won Them Over
Fans of the original Vanderpump Rules weren’t sure of what to make of the reboot. After the first episode, some said that they would stop watching despite years of dedication to the series. In the second episode, though, a moment of classic reality TV mess won people over. Here’s why people can’t stop talking about it.
‘Vanderpump Rules’ fans shared the moment that won them over
The Vanderpump Rules reboot features an entirely new cast. Fans of the original criticized the updated series both before and after the premiere aired. During the second episode, though, a moment at cast member Audrey Lingle’s birthday party charmed many viewers.
While Kim Suarez sits on a couch and cries to Natalie Maguire about her relationship with Marcus Johnson, Lingle gets a lap dance from several different men. Fans found the scene so funny because Lingle is sitting just feet away from the emotional conversation.
“This scene had me CACKLING, reminds [me] of days of yore — and the first time this season has caught my attention lmaoooo,” wrote one Reddit user.
“I was on the fence until this scene. I’m all the way in now!” added another person. “Everyone on this show is authentically and delightfully dumb. I love them all.”
People said that the moment reminded them of moments from the original series.
“I howled!” one person wrote, adding, “I love these beautiful idiots. I feel it’s so close to early VPR.”
Some people even said this scene improved on moments from the later seasons of the original series.
“I was sold and haven’t laughed this hard at VPR in a long time,” wrote one person.
Venus Binkley said this was also one of his favorite moments
The scene is a favorite amongst members of the cast as well. Venus Binkley, who briefly gave Lingle a lap dance, said he loved watching it.
“That is my favorite scene of the episode,” he told Decider. “The first time I saw that I was dead. I was barking.”
He said that after seeing Suarez cry, he knew he had to do something to lighten the mood.
“When that was taking place, I saw the girls crying, so I ran out and I was like, ‘Look, I need to get this party started.’ I wanted to give Audrey a lap dance for her birthday,” he said. “As soon as I got on top of her, I saw Chris and Jason coming up and I was like, ‘Oh, no, these are the professionals.’ So I got up and then you see they go to town on her. I wanted her to have that. I was like, ‘You’re going to get a half a** lap dance from me. So you go ahead and get berated by these two men.’”
The ‘Vanderpump Rules’ producers want the reboot to be different than the original
While some scenes of the reboot feel similar to the original, Lisa Vanderpump said she wants a different vibe. Naturally, the original series changed as the cast got older. The reboot’s cast is a little younger.
“It’s just got a totally different feeling, because also, with the others, they were older now, there were more serious problems,” Vanderpump told The Hollywood Reporter. “It was fractured; some didn’t want to film with each other — it wasn’t the show that we started with.”
She said she looks forward to fans seeing the updated series.
