‘Vanderpump Rules’: Lala Kent Shared Rumors About the New Cast
Vanderpump Rules alum Lala Kent showed that there’s no bad blood between herself and the show’s new cast. After 11 seasons, the Bravo series will reboot with an entirely new cast. Many fans have expressed trepidation about the reboot. While people have had problems with the cast in recent seasons, some feel that it will be impossible to capture the lightning-in-a-bottle of the early seasons. Kent assured fans that they have no reason to worry.
Lala Kent shared what she knows about the new ‘Vanderpump Rules’ cast
While Kent, who joined Vanderpump Rules in Season 4, said she doesn’t know anyone in the new cast, she has heard good things about the upcoming season.
“I don’t know any of the cast,” she told E! News. “I will say I’m very excited for them, because I know that feeling of being on TV for the first time. It’s very fun. I’ve heard that it’s gonna be amazing.”
She considers reality television an art form and notes that overproducing it can cause problems. Kent has heard that the new cast has taken to it with ease.
“You cannot teach the art of reality TV,” she said. “Even if you’ve watched it, you can tell when someone’s been watching reality TV and they try to bring those iconic moments. I’ve heard this cast is so authentically themselves and there’s not a lot of self-awareness, which is freaking awesome.”
Kent will return to reality television on the third season of The Valley.
Lisa Vanderpump and producer Alex Baskin spoke about the show’s reboot
When a new cast was announced for the 12th season of Vanderpump Rules, Lisa Vanderpump thanked the former cast, but expressed her excitement about the reboot.
“In the restaurant business, one shift always gives way to another,” she said, per Us Weekly. “Cheers to the next generation of Vanderpump Rules.”
Alex Baskin, the show’s executive producer, said he thinks fans of the show can look forward to another great cast.
“We’re working on it. We’re excited. It’s back to our basic principles,” he said. “It’s a group of people who are really friends in their 20s and who work together and kind of do everything together.”
Still, he noted that the new version of the show doesn’t look too much like the original version.
Jax Taylor is not as confident about the ‘Vanderpump Rules’ reboot as Lala Kent
While Kent feels optimistic about the reboot, fellow Vanderpump Rules alum Jax Taylor doesn’t think it will measure up to the original.
“They have extremely, extremely big shoes to fill,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I don’t think you’re ever going to get the original Vanderpump. It’s never going to happen.”
He noted that the original cast were all friends long before joining the show.
“And you’ve got to understand, too, that we were never casted,” he said. “We were friends already.”
He noted that the chemistry between the original cast drew so many people in because they had history and drama before cameras started rolling. He encouraged reality show producers to find a pre-existing friend group if they want to make good television.
