David Beckham and Victoria Beckham have been married since 1999 and have four children together. Over the last few months a famiy rift with their oldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, has been making headlines.

Amid the ongoing feud, Posh Spice shared several photos on Instagram with David and their other three children during a vacation together in St. Tropez and aboard a yacht.

Now, an expert has analyzed Victoria’s photo drop and is discussing why Mrs. Beckham rarely smiles and what type of family they really are.

Expert says it’s part of Victoria’s ‘persona that she never really smiles’

Darren Stanton is a body language and behavioral expert with a degree in psychology. He previously worked as a police officer and used his expertise to uncover the truth when interviewing hundreds of suspects. He later moved into media and TV as a consultant and has been dubbed the “Human Lie Detector.”

Looking over the photos, Stanton pointed out that Victoria appears to be smiling slightly in most of the snaps, which is something we don’t see from her often.

Speaking on behalf of OLBG, Stanton told Showbiz Cheat Sheet: “We even get a reasonable smile out of Victoria. Normally, it’s part of her persona that she never really smiles. The composite of the photo of David and Victoria demonstrates that whatever the negative headlines, they’ve got a very strong marriage.

“They’re not contrived photos, sometimes with celebs you can see they don’t want to be here –but this is very genuine. There are laugh lines at the side of their eyes and their faces are very engaged. They’re also very comfortable with PDAs. It seems their marriage has gone from strength to strength.”

The expert also explained that despite the ongoing feud with Brooklyn and his parents, the photos with their other children show that they are indeed a “tight-knit” family.

According to Stanton, “They’re such a tight-knit unit. They’ve a very cohesive family. I don’t think there is any doubt that they’re as strong as they ever were as a family, and they look like they’re having a great time together.

“There are three key things we look for to spot a genuine smile. The first is crow’s feet, which are the lines at the side of the eyes, are present in a genuine smile regardless of someone’s age. Also, their eyes — if the eyes are dead like a shark reveals it’s a fake smile. Also, you can see the bottom side of the face isn’t truly engaged, it’s not genuine.”

The body language pro added: “In lots of the shots, we see the three key elements. The key elements that denote being very happy, relaxed, and in love, and also having a deep trust, are all on display here. There are no falsities. They’re very close to each other physically, their cheeks are together.”

Showbiz Cheat Sheet acknowledges that conditions and cultures can impact body language and is sensitive to all backgrounds.
