Victoria Beckham Tries to Gain ‘Control’ During Tense Moment With Family in Paris
Following Brooklyn Beckham scathing posts about his parents and what led to their family feud, Victoria and David Beckham have been taking a buisness-as-usual approach.
On Jan. 20, Brooklyn took to his Instagram Stories claiming that his famous parents “have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.”
After those damning allegations, an expert has said someone who hopes to gain “control” back is Victoria. She, along with David, their two sons and their partners, and daughter Harper, were spotted in Paris for Fashion Week. Here’s what the expert noticed when cameras focused in on the family as they left their hotel.
Victoria’s body language shows that she’s trying to get ’emotional control’ back
Body language expert Dr. Beth Dawson analyzed the latest snaps and saw signs of “emotional strain bubbling beneath the surface” as David and Victoria “move forward together, sharing the weight without explaining it.”
However, Victoria, in particular, appears “very affected by the situation” while “determined to remain composed in public and is going to to ensure she takes back control of their family’s narrative in the media.”
“Her lips are slightly pressed together, her gaze is contained, and she engages less with the external environment,” Dr. Dawson told Express. “She isn’t seeking contact. This isn’t distance or coldness, but emotional control, and she is choosing restraint.
The expert added, “We can observe some slight leakage of emotions. There is tension around the jaw for both of them, and tension around the eyes, which shows fatigue. This is consistent with what we’re hearing from sources and family members.”
PR expert shares why Victoria and David need that ‘control’ back
Kayley Cornelius is a PR expert and celebrity commentator who has been featured in the Daily Mail, the BBC, the New York Post, and more.
Speaking on behalf of OLBG, Cornelius told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “They’ve spent decades building an image rooted in family, unity, and stability, and when a narrative like this comes from inside the family, it’s far harder to contain or redirect. This is something they will want to get under control quickly, because the longer it runs, the harder it becomes to manage.
“For David, there is a very real risk that unresolved controversy could impact future multi-million-pound endorsements and long-term partnerships. Brands are cautious, and if there’s any sense that public sentiment is shifting or backlash could continue, some may quietly cut ties rather than wait for clarity. That damage isn’t always loud or instant, but slow and cumulative. For Victoria, the timing is particularly delicate. Her fashion and beauty businesses are still growing and rely heavily on public trust and consumer goodwill.”
Showbiz Cheat Sheet acknowledges that conditions and cultures can impact body language and is sensitive to all backgrounds.
