Blake Lively’s battle against Justin Baldoni hasn’t made it in front of a judge yet, but the legal skirmish has already cost the Gossip Girl alum a lot. Reports are swirling that there may be tension between Blake Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and things certainly appear to be icy between her and her former best friend, Taylor Swift. Last month, Swift spent time with friends in New York, but never ran into Lively. She was in the city again just recently, and avoided the pal she had previously made an extra effort for. While Lively and Swift haven’t spoken about any rift, it’s kind of obvious. You might be surprised to learn just how long it has been since they’ve been spotted in public together.
Taylor Swift and Blake Lively haven’t been spotted together in more than a year
Taylor Swift was recently in New York City, hanging out with Este Haim. According to Marie Claire, Blake Lively was in New York City on the same date, attending a holiday event. The former besties’ paths never crossed. Fans were quick to notice that despite their close proximity, they still kept their distance, at least publicly. If you think about it, though, they haven’t been spotted together in a very long time.
The last public outing for Taylor Swift and Blake Lively was back in October 2024. The last time they were in public together, they were at The Corner Store. an upscale American eatery in SoHo. The outing also included Ryan Reynolds and Travis Kelce. Since that last outing, Kelce has unfollowed Reynolds on Instagram, and Blake Lively was decidedly quiet when Kelce and Swift announced their engagement in August.
Taylor Swift has been hanging out publicly with lots of other friends
The fact that Taylor Swift hasn’t spent significant public time with Blake Lively could seem like a fluke, but only if you are willing to overlook the fact that Taylor Swift has been very socially active lately. She’s been spending time with various pals in very public spaces for months, and Lively still hasn’t popped up.
During a previous trip to New York City in November, she was seen out and about with Gigi Hadid, Sabrina Carpenter, and various other friends before she linked back up with Travis Kelce. During this most recent trip, she spent time with Este Haim.
She’s also been bringing pals to Chiefs games in recent weeks. During the Chiefs’ week 14 loss to the Houston Texans, Swift was seen sitting with Selena Gomez and Lena Dunham. Swift was very present for Gomez’s September nuptials to Benny Blanco, and she’s been seen spending time with Brittany Mahomes, too. In short, Swift is very much making time for socializing, and she’s doing so very publicly. Whether she’s choosing not to see Blake Lively at all or simply keeping her distance publicly is a different debate.
