Kanye West appears to be attempting a bit of a redemption tour. The rapper,  whose mental health spiral and horrific online comments garnered much attention through 2025, appears to be trying to reinvent himself. He is even planning a concert in the United States for the first time in years. The Los Angeles event is already making headlines, but do you remember when Kanye West last toured in the United States?

Kanye West’s planned Los Angeles stop on his ‘Bully’ tour has fans fired up

Kanye West is trying to mount a comeback, and his fans are pretty stoked about it. After a lot of really troubling behavior over the last couple of years, West insists he is now stable and ready to get back to work. His 12th studio album, Bully, is set for release on March 27, and he will also return to the United States for some tour dates.

West has two planned shows in the Los Angeles area in April. The second was added after his first date sold out quickly. The rapper will appear at SoFi Stadium, which holds up to 70,000 spectators, on April 1st and April 3rd. The return to California will be West’s first live performance in the state in years. As of press time, the SoFi Stadium stop is the only United States stop on the tour. After the two shows, West will head to Europe to perform in the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, France, and Turkey through the spring and summer, according to the Tour’s official website.

When was the last time he appeared stateside?

The excitement around Kanye West’s return to Los Angeles is understandable. The rapper, while deeply troubled, still has fans, and they are very much willing to pay to see him perform. Stateside fans just haven’t had that oppurtunity in several years. While West has appeared live in the United States from time to time, he hasn’t headlined a tour in nearly a full decade.

Kanye West’s last stateside tour took place in 2016. The Saint Pablo Tour kicked off in Indianapolis in August 2016. He toured North America, stopping in 41 cities in the United States and Canada. The tour ended abruptly after West suffered a medical issue during a show in Sacramento, which culminated in a winding rant before he walked off stage.

West also appeared in 2021 for a one-off concert in Los Angeles. The Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert was held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on December 9, 2021. That was his last Los Angeles concert appearance.

Since then, he’s toured here and there, hosted listening parties, and completed successful shows in Asia and Europe. His return to the United States, however, was a bit unexpected.
