Zayn Malik’s Dig at Harry Styles Isn’t Impressing Fans: ‘Pot Calling the Kettle Black’
In a recent concert, Zayn Malik appeared to take a swipe at former One Direction bandmate Harry Styles. Styles recently stoked the ire of his fans with the ticket prices for his Together, Together tour. Malik seemed to reference this in a comment to fans during a recent show in Las Vegas. People pointed out that tickets to Malik’s show were also pricey.

Malik is currently playing a series of shows in Las Vegas. In his Jan. 28 show, he thanked the audience for coming to see him.
“I just want to say a big, big thank you to each and every single one of you for being here with me tonight,” he said, per Page Six. “You could have been anywhere, but you decided to spend your night with me.”
He then seemingly referenced the uproar over ticket prices for Styles’ Together, Together tour. A number of fans expressed their frustration online when they discovered the cost of entry.
“Hopefully, the ticket prices weren’t too high,” he said. “Just saying.”
People pointed out the fact that tickets to both concerts were expensive
Tickets to Styles’ tour range from roughly $60 to well over $1,000. While Malik’s ticket prices don’t go as high as Styles’, they are not cheaper, either. Standard tickets cost around $92. Many people pointed this out in response to his callout.
“His tickets were high asf too,” wrote one Reddit user. “He can’t talk they’re both the same.”
“Pot calling the kettle black,” added another person.
People noted that Malik only had room to shade Styles if his tickets were substantially less expensive.
“I’d take it if he was selling tickets for £30 but this comes off [as] bitter,” wrote one person.
Still, some people didn’t think Malik was intentionally calling out his former bandmate. Many artists have faced backlash over ticket prices in recent years.
“I don’t understand why everyone is taking it as shade,” one person said. “It’s a joke regarding the current commentary. He sees people complaining about ticket prices and says he hopes his weren’t too expensive. People literally are looking too deep into it.”

Malik has not worked with Styles in over a decade. Malik left One Direction in 2015, a move that Styles admitted surprised him. He hadn’t realized how unhappy Malik had become in the boy band.
“It was kind of like we were sad, obviously, that someone had left, but also sad that he was not enjoying it so much that he had to leave,” he said on on New Music Daily with Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1. “Because I think at the time too, the tour and everything was going so well and everyone had kind of got to this place where everyone was kind of living in a way where they I think felt pretty good. It felt like everyone was kind of enjoying it.”
He admitted the remaining members questioned whether or not to continue without him. They ultimately released one album as a foursome.
“We were about to start recording a new album and stuff and it was like, ‘Are we recording this without him?'” Styles recalled. “But I’d say in the moment, I guess the four of us became closer because we were like, ‘OK, this is a hurdle that we weren’t expecting.'”
The band broke up in 2016.
