Keanu Reeves Once Called This Steamy Kiss With Sandra Bullock the ‘Most Memorable’ Part of Filming

Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock have such amazing chemistry in movies that one of their steamy kisses even earned them an award for best liplock. Reeves said he counted his kiss with Bullock as one of the “most memorable” parts of making The Lake House.

Keanu Reeves called kissing Sandra Bullock ‘memorable’

During an interview when they were promoting their movie The Lake House, Reeves and Bullock were asked what it was like to work together again after co-starring in Speed.

“It was really exciting to work again … I have a great trust and comfort, which is nice to have going into something and it was exciting,” Reeves explained.

When the interviewer asked Reeves, “Is there a day on the set that was most memorable for you?,” he had one highlight of filming that really stood out.

“I’ve said it before but I really enjoyed it — was the first and second days where we worked together,” he said, noting it was “the dance sequence.” The actor added, “…and then the first kind of kiss, that was the most memorable film day for me.”

It wasn’t just a memorable film moment for Reeves, as he and Bullock won the Teen Choice Award for “Choice Liplock” in 2006.

When accepting the giant surfboard award, those in the audience hoped the two would recreate their epic kiss. Bullock found a way to get out of it, however, claiming she couldn’t because she’s married.

“It’s kind of bittersweet,” she said during their acceptance speech. “You say, ‘Do it again.’ But I’m a married woman now. It’s true. You have to understand … kisses that are really hot … and really warm and tight, like that, I can’t do anymore.”

She continued, “I can’t do them because I’m married and they only go to my husband. I’m married now. You don’t do that when you’re married.”

Keanu asked her, “Sandy? Weren’t you married when we did that kiss?,” to which Bullock joked, “I’m in so much trouble right now.”

The two escaped without having to kiss, thanking the crowd and exiting the stage.

Reeves and Bullock admitted they had crushes on each other

Bullock admitted that she had a crush on her co-star when they made Speed, telling Ellen DeGeneres in a 2018 interview how she felt about him then.

It turns out that Reeves also had some feelings for Bullock. In a 2019 interview with DeGeneres, the talk show host showed him the clip of Bullock’s interview where she admitted her crush.

“She obviously didn’t know I had a crush on her, either,” Reeves explained after watching Bullock admit her crush.

As for why they never dated, Reeves said they were professionals. “We were working!,” he said, adding, “It was nice to go to work. She’s such a wonderful person, such a wonderful actress.”
