The story picks up several months after Lucas and Elizabeth’s swoon-worthy bridge kiss in the season 8 finale as the couple moves into the next phase of their relationship. Meanwhile, the residents of Hope Valley must choose a new mayor while also grappling with some changes that are coming to town.

New When Calls the Heart episodes air Sunday nights at 8 p.m. ET.
