Tammy and Amy Slaton have come a long way on their weight loss journeys on 1000-lb Sisters. When the tv show first started, the two had a combined weight of around 1000 lbs, hence the name. Throughout two seasons, Amy has lost a significant amount of weight while Tammy has fluctuated. Are the two still staying healthy when they aren’t on our t.v. screns?

How much weight did Tammy Slaton and Amy Slaton lose on ‘1000-lb Sisters’?

When Amy and Tammy first began their journeys, Amy weighed around 400 lbs and Tammy was around 600lbs. Amy became determined to get healthy and started being more active and paying attention to what she ate. She ended up losing enough weight to have weight loss surgery. But then, Amy got pregnant with her son Gage and paused on losing weight. After giving birth, she began to focus on her health again and got down to 270 lbs, according to SoapDirt.

Tammy, on the other hand, ended season 2 at 665 lbs, which means she had gained weight.

“I just wasn’t doing what I needed to do. I mean, sometimes I try to eat healthier, and then other days I’m like, ‘What the heck’s the point?’” she told her doctor at her final weigh-in.

Despite the weight gain, Tammy’s doctor was optimistic.

“You could’ve blamed [that] you couldn’t get out of bed, you could’ve blamed that you had COVID and you could’ve blamed that you were in the hospital, and you didn’t,” he said. “And believe it or not, that’s a step forward from where you’ve been in the past. So you just made progress even though your weight went up.”

Are Tammy and Amy still losing weight?

Tammy and Amy are not actively updating their fans on their weight loss in the off-season. Amy has posted a few pictures of her and her baby since season 2 ended. In the pictures, there hasn’t been any drastic change from what she looked like at the end of the season.

Tammy was active on TikTok for a while and would update fans on how she was doing but her TikTok was recently shut down. Since then, Tammy has only uploaded close-up pictures to Instagram. Tammy and Amy may have some kind of contract that prevents them from sharing health updates before the new season comes out, however, neither has confirmed or denied that.

‘1000-lb Sisters’ season 3

The Slaton sisters will be back for season 3 of 1000-lb Sisters and fans will get to continue following their health journeys. However, it will be several months before the show airs.

“Season 3 don’t come out until next year,” Tammy previously said in a TikTok. “It takes a year to film cause we got to find locations.

“You gotta find places they will let you film for everything we do,” she continued. “Let’s say we went to a grocery store. We may have to find a grocery store that’s like one person owned and not like a sister store or a franchise like Walmart. So like and they gotta edit after they get all the filming done. So it’s gonna be a while. I’m sorry and people keep asking about Hulu, I don’t know. I don’t know anything. I mean it is what it is.”
