‘1000-Lb Sisters’: Video of Tammy Slaton and Amy Slaton Trying Healthy Food Reveals a Big Clue About Their Weight Loss Progress

Fans of 1000-lb Sisters are fully invested in the weight loss journeys of Tammy and Amy Slaton. Since the  TV show started two seasons ago, the Slaton sisters have been working on losing weight and getting healthy. In order to do that, they both had to change their diets. But neither sister has exactly gotten the hang of eating healthy.

Tammy Slaton and Amy Slaton tried healthy foods

Before the Slatons landed 1000-lb Sisters, they each had YouTube channels where they would share their lives with fans. Since1000-lb Sisters, the Slatons have still been uploading videos, just with higher production value.

In one video, Tammy and Amy try an assortment of healthy foods. From chickpeas to meatless ground beef and seaweed, the sisters try a number of foods that would help them on their journeys to get in shape. Unfortunately, the women didn’t seem to like any of the foods they tried. Tammy was unable to even swallow the guava chips that were on the table.

Without incorporating more healthy foods into their diets, Tammy and Amy are going to have a hard time getting healthy.

Fans want Tammy Slaton and Amy Slaton to eat healthier

Some fans were upset that Amy and Tammy weren’t trying harder to enjoy the food.

“‘You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make them drink,'” one person commented. “Tammy…you’ve got to want to lose the weight….it’s all up to you honey!! Success or failure is 100% your responsibility…”

Others were more encouraging.

“Hey, Tammy! Love you girl!!!!” another fan wrote. “You are so fabulous! I love to eat too! Took me a while to find good tasting healthy food, but I did! You got this!”

“Tammy, you have got this!!” another person said. “You can do it, girl!! Can’t wait to see how far you go, sweetie! You and your sister deserve all the happiness and health! Congrats on the new baby 👶 Slayton Sister POWER!!”

“You got this, ladies,” one user commented. “I’ve spent my entire life being overweight, I’m with you ladies all the way! You got this, with those pretty faces of yours!”

Most of the comments were extremely positive.

“Keep up the great work ladies,” another fan wrote. “Y’all will find something you like. Tammy don’t let ANYONE get to you. You will get back on track. I know you want to change. It’s a long process ppl who aren’t overweight don’t really understand the struggle of taking the weight back off. Yes we know it was easy to put on and we can take that blame. Keep trying you will find what is best for you girl! Amy and Tammy keep being amazing! Love you girls!!!! ❤ YALL GOT THIS!!!!”

Tammy gained weight on ‘1000-lb Sisters’ Season 2

At the end of 1000-lb Sisters Season 2, Tammy actually gained more weight because she was unable to change her diet.

“I just wasn’t doing what I needed to do. I mean, sometimes I try to eat healthier, and then other days I’m like, ‘What the heck’s the point?’” she told the doctor.

Despite the fact that she gained over 20 lbs, her doctor was proud of her for admitting her unhealthy relationship with food.

“You could’ve blamed [that] you couldn’t get out of bed. You could’ve blamed that you had COVID. And you could’ve blamed that you were in the hospital. And you didn’t,” he said. “And believe it or not, that’s a step forward from where you’ve been in the past. So you just made progress even though your weight went up.”
