It’s not a secret that some of the most successful movies at the box office currently fall in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that the highest-paid actors last year starred in those movies.

But which actors made the top 10 list and how did they rank? Here is everything you need to know including what we know about the plans for their character after Avengers: Endgame.

Chris Hemsworth

Chris Hemsworth had multiple releases in 2019 with Avengers: Endgame, Men in Black: International, and Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. His shot at leading another acting franchise didn’t go over well, but he’s still going strong playing Thor.

According to Forbes, Hemsworth was the second highest-paid actor of 2019 behind Dwayne Johnson. He reportedly earned $76.4 million that year.

The future of Thor is a bit unclear after Avengers: Endgame. Hemsworth will be in Thor: Love and Thunder, according to IMDb. We know his character will be teaming up with Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman).

Robert Downey Jr.

Robert Downey Jr. ended his run as Tony Stark almost coming out on top. He was the third highest-paid actor of 2019 under Hemsworth, according to Forbes. He was reportedly paid $66 million that year.

He had one less movie release than the Australian actor. Downey Jr. starred in Avengers: Endgame and the short, Dolittle – Auditions. His next movie was Dolittle, which was released in 2020.

The actor will still be busy with other franchises after Marvel. He will be in Sherlock Holmes 3 and there is rumor that he’s somehow in the upcoming Black Widow movie. It should still be interesting to see how his pay will be affected by no longer being Iron Man.

Chris Evans

Chris Evans falls lower on the list to being the eighth highest-paid actor of 2019. He was reportedly paid $43.5 million that year.

Evans is in the same boat as Downey Jr. given his time playing Steve Rogers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has ended with Avengers: Endgame. However, he starred in more releases that year.

He appeared in Knives Out, The Red Sea Diving Resort, and Avengers: Endgame. Knives Out was successful enough that the crime comedy is getting a sequel. It’s unknown if Evans’ Ransom Drysdale will appear in it.

Evans has already started to move on from playing Captain America. He is currently starring in the series, Defending Jacob playing Andy Barber.

Paul Rudd

Paul Rudd is the last Marvel actor on the top 10 list at number nine. He reportedly made $41 million that year.

There are rumors that there will be a third Ant-Man movie. The actor is still releasing new work outside of the Marvel Univerise in 2019. He starred in the new Netflix show, Living with Yourself.

He was in another show this new year called Escape from Virtual Island. Rudd will also be in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which is scheduled to come out next year.

The current highest-paid stars had some of the biggest roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It should be interesting to see which ones will fall down the list given their characters are wrapped up in the franchise and if other stars will take their place.
