Rose Leslie and Kit Harington plan to raise their baby in the ‘house that Jon Snow built’

Leslie revealed the baby news in the new issue of U.K.’s Make Magazine. The photo spread featured a black-and-white pic of Leslie showing off her baby bump while wearing a long black dress.

Life has been quite different for Leslie and Harington since Game of Thrones ended in May 2019. After the series wrapped, Harington spent a few weeks at a wellness treat to work on personal issues. Since then, the couple has been spending most of their time at their Tudor manor house in East Anglia, England.

The $2.2 million, two-story home is from the 15th century. And Leslie calls it “the house that Jon Snow built.” The 33-year-old explained that it’s been a “glorious thing” to run to the countryside and recoup.

“We have a thatched roof, which currently has an enormous hornet’s nest in it. I do love to think about the house and all the people who have lived there. Were they happy, how did they live? All the families passing under those ancient beams,” Leslie said.

‘Game of Thrones’ fans have been naming babies after characters for nearly a decade

According to NBC News, thousands of parents in the United States have named their babies after Game of Thrones characters. The trend really started to heat up in 2018 ahead of the final season on HBO.

Data from the Social Security Administration revealed that more than 4,500 children received Game of Thrones-inspired names in 2018. This total excludes all of the versions of Jon and Jaime.

The data shows that in 2018, a handful of babies received the name of Bran, Khal, Sandor, Olenna, and Rennick. There are also a few babies named Samwell, as well as Bronn, Myrcella, Aegon, Ghita, and Benjen.

Other Game of Thrones baby names on the list include Ramsay, Ellaria, Sansa, Jorah, Brienne, Tyrion, Jory, Daenerys, Shae, and Nymeria. Two of the most popular names are Khaleesi and Lyanna.

The SSA only publishes data about names given to five or more babies in one year. This means there’s a strong possibility that a tiny Joffrey or Hodor is running around somewhere in America.

5 ‘Game of Thrones’ baby name suggestions for Kit Harington and Rose Leslie

Leslie and Harington met on the set of Game of Thrones during season 2. Considering that – and the fact that baby Harington will be raised in the house that Jon Snow built – it would make sense the little one received a Game of Thrones-inspired name.

The first suggestion would be Jorah. Between 2000 and 2008, Jorah was only a girl’s name. However, since 2014, 80 boys have received the name, thanks to Ser Jorah Mormont.

Another suggestion to consider would be Yara, after one of the Ironborn siblings. More than 400 babies received the name of Yara in 2018, so the little one wouldn’t be the only one with the name. Another perfect choice would be Ygrette, after Rose’s character.

There is no doubt, though, that the top choice for a baby girl would be Arya. More than 2,500 baby girls received that name in 2018. And, according to SheKnows, it is the top girl baby name inspired by a TV show in the past 20 years.

For a little Harington/Leslie boy, could they choose any other name besides Jon? That must be the number one choice for any Game of Thrones fan. It’s definitely not out of the question for fans to see a baby Jon Snow Harington in 2021 — especially considering Kit has a brother named John.
