The Marvel Cinematic Universe is full of characters fans would love to meet, but who among them would make the best Valentine? Sure, the MCU’s heroes have their hands full with saving the world. But these eight would definitely show up for their Valentine’s Day date, even after a long day of taking down bad guys.

Steve Rogers

When it comes to which Marvel characters would make the best Valentines, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) is at the top of the list. A gentleman through and through, it’s no secret Captain America is something of a romantic. You just know Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) would wake up to flowers and breakfast on Valentine’s Day — and probably a dance, too.

Wanda Maximoff

Speaking of romantics, Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) is among the Marvel characters you’d want as a Valentine. Just look at the life she created for herself and Vision (Paul Bettany) in Westview. Of course, the ideal Valentine’s Day date wouldn’t involve trapping an entire town in a false reality. But sitcom marathons and breakfast for dinner? That we can get on board with.

Peter Parker

Who wouldn’t want Peter Parker as their Valentine? No matter which iteration of the Marvel character you’re looking at, he’s a class act. And after Spider-Man: No Way Home, most Marvel fans would love a date with the franchise’s web-slinger. After all, following dinner and a movie with a swing around the city sounds absolutely thrilling (well, unless you’re afraid of heights).

Yelena Belova

Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) is a newer addition to the MCU, but she’s already becoming one of the most popular Marvel characters around. She was a fan favorite from Black Widow, but her appearance in Hawkeye cemented viewers’ love for her. And her actions in the Disney+ series prove she’d make an A+ Valentine.

For one, who wouldn’t love to come home to “some really good-smelling macaroni” for Valentine’s Day dinner? Yelena’s also game for appetizers, drinks, and some butt-kicking — plus, she’s got a great sense of humor. That sounds like an all-around good time.

Gilgamesh

Several members of the Eternals team would make great Valentines, but Gilgamesh (Don Lee) takes the cake here. (Let’s just pretend the end of the film didn’t happen, shall we?)

Gilgamesh’s dedication to Thena (Angelina Jolie) highlights how loyal he is. And although their relationship wasn’t romantic in nature, he’d likely be just as committed to his special someone. He also knows how to cook a mean feast, which means a Valentine’s Day with this Marvel character would come with a top-notch menu.

Kate Bishop

As Clint Barton (Jeremy Clinton) learned this Christmas, life with Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) is never dull — and Valentine’s Day wouldn’t be either. Kate is festive, she’s fun, and she might even let you pet Pizza Dog before the evening is through. All of that definitely lands her on the list of Marvel characters who’d make great Valentines.

Sam Wilson

That’s right, Steve Rogers isn’t the only Captain America who’d bring his A-game on Valentine’s Day. Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) is just as sweet and charming as the former Cap — plus, he’s got a sense of humor that would keep anyone laughing all evening.

And if the conversation ever lulled, you can always discuss the “Big Three” — because who doesn’t enjoy deep chats about androids, aliens, and wizards, especially with someone who’s faced them all?

Loki

Of all the Marvel characters to spend Valentine’s Day with, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) would certainly be the least predictable — but that’s all part of the fun. Anyone who loves surprises would surely enjoy a date with the God of Mischief. You could wind up arrested by the Time Variance Authority, or you could take down a giant monster and accidentally unleash the multiverse.

You just never know how a Valentine’s Day with Loki would go down. But if you’re lucky, you’d get a blanket wrapped around your shoulders and a rendition of “Jeg Saler Min Ganger” at the end of it all.
