9-1-1 Season 5 brings Hen Wilson back to the forefront. Aisha Hinds plays the firefighter paramedic who works at Station 118 of the Los Angeles Fire Department. She’s been part of the crew since the first season.

Prior to 9-1-1, Hinds worked on shows such as NYPD Blue, ER, CSI: NY, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, and Law & Order: SVU. But Hinds adores 9-1-1 and believes it serves as a “tribute” to the incredible first responders who deal with emergencies every day. “I think it celebrates them, their lives, and the work that they do,” she told Outsider. “We sort of take them for granted, but we want them to know that we do not take them for granted. And so hopefully audiences will join us in celebrating the work that they do.”

Hinds also believed in Ryan Murphy’s vision for the show. She told W Magazine she thought Murphy could “break the procedural drama mold” — and he, along with Falchuk and Minear, did just that.

Aisha Hinds teases what’s in store for the ‘end of the season’ as the ‘rat pack’ comes together

With the remainder of 9-1-1 Season 5 coming soon to Fox, Aisha Hinds talked about the show’s return with W Magazine. W reminds fans that the season 5 midseason finale ended with Eddie Diaz leaving Station 118. Additionally, Howard “Chimney” Han left earlier in the season to find his girlfriend, Maddie, and their daughter, Jee-Yun. The Hen Wilson actor told W that the rest of season 5 begins with the newly “fractured” team.

“We ended [the first half] with this fractured dynamic and [the 118] trying to figure out how to plug the holes and bring in very capable people who are able to do the job,” Hinds told W Magazine. ” … We had to hold what was left in place, so it was Hen, Buck (Oliver Stark), Bobby (Peter Krause) and Probie [Ravi] (Anirudh Pisharody), and Albert (John Harlan Kim) joined the fire department, and then we have Lucy (Arielle Kebbel) and Jonah. So, it was kind of trying to figure out who fits where, and can this work? As we get toward the end of the season, you kind of see the rat pack come back together, which is what we’re all hoping and waiting for.”
