9-1-1 Season 5 Episode 11 is sure to keep fans on the edge of their seats. According to the official plot synopsis, “Athena, Bobby, and the 118 must rescue a family whose pick-up truck has been rigged with a pipe bomb that will detonate if the vehicle slows down and goes under 55 mph; Eddie has a rough transition into his new job; Buck makes a relationship decision.”

Fans of the infamous Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock movie, Speed, will see the resemblance of the film in the new episode. A teaser of the new episode posted to Twitter shows Evan “Buck” Buckley actor Oliver Stark talking about what’s to come. “The second half of the season is starting off with adrenaline,” Stark notes. “One of the biggest emergencies we’ve done in a long time is in the first episode of the second half of the season.”

“If you recall Speed, we do an homage to that film,” Bobby Nash actor Peter Krause says in the clip.

“Except it’s the family SUV, and you can’t slow down,” Athena Grant actor Angela Bassett adds.
