His relationship with Rose may be over, but that doesn’t mean the memes have to stop. In fact, some fans shared their latest connection between Big Ed and one Disney character. Here’s what fans are saying about Big Ed from 90 Day Fiancé and his uncanny twin from Disney’s animated version of Mulan.

‘Big Ed’ is one of the people on the reality series ‘90 Day Fiancé’

This man was just searching for love on TLC’s reality series. He found Rose online and when they finally met in person, things got more complicated. In the end, the two decided to break their relationship, with some fans choosing sides over who was right in the situation.

It might’ve taken fans a few weeks to make this connection, but since then, fans can’t unsee the similarities between Big Ed and the matchmaker from Disney’s animated version of Mulan. One tweet about it earned almost 10,000 likes.

Some fans noticed that Ed looks like the matchmaker from ‘Mulan’

The live-action adaptation of Mulan may be on pause temporarily due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, fans first met this loud, though minor, character with Disney’s animated movie, which debuted during the 1990s.

Before Mulan leaves to join the army, she tries to impress the matchmaker and bring honor to her family. She makes a poor first impression when her “lucky” cricket escapes his cage and jumps into the matchmaker’s tea. It only gets crazier from there.

After a fire and an unfortunate placement of ink on the matchmaker’s face, she decides that Mulan will never be fit to be a bride. Something good does come out of this, though — Mulan sings the iconic song “Reflection” and has a moment alone with her father, who reassures her of her worth and beauty.

There are a few physical similarities between these two characters if we’re being honest. Purple robe? On. Long hair? Pulled back. Bad attitude? Pretty much always. Some fans took to social media, sharing their thoughts on one of the people in the reality series, 90 Day Fiancé.

Fans on social media responded to the latest episode of ‘90 Day Fiancé’

With most of Ed and Rose’s story out in the open, some fans took to social media, sharing their thoughts on their relationship. Most of those fans sided with Rose, saying that Ed wasn’t fair to her even when the cameras weren’t rolling.

“While we’re all collectively exposing racists and sex abusers. Can we please… CANCEL Ed and not give him a platform. The way he just blatantly LIES and DISMISSES Rose for voicing out her struggles. Honey. This is why you aged like milk,” one Twitter user wrote.

“Ed acts like we didn’t see all of the footage of him verbally and emotionally abusing Rose. Now he’s trying to stand on some moral soapbox,” another Twitter user noted. Already released episodes of 90 Day Fiancé are available on the television network TLC.
