90 Day Fiancé Season 9 stars Jibri and Miona have been a fan-favorite couple since the start of the season. Jibri captured fans’ hearts (or at least their attention) with his bright-colored outfits and cowboy hats. Miona’s bluntness and outward dislike for South Dakota country life have created some juicy drama. Although some fans claim that Miona is just in the relationship for money, there may be more to the story for the 90 Day Fiancé couple.

How did ’90 Day Fiancé’ stars Jibri and Miona meet?

How did Jibri, with roots in South Dakota, meet Miona from Serbia? During an interview with Rapid City Journal, a newspaper in Jibri’s hometown, Jibri talked about meeting Miona. He said they met during the 2019 EXIT Festival in Serbia. EXIT has won the Best Major Festival award at the European Festivals Awards twice. Jibri was performing with the Black Serbs for the festival.

Jibri also shared what he told Miona when they first started dating.

“I looked at her, and I said, ‘Hey, if you can do this lifestyle with me and travel with me and perform, this is what I want to do. I want to be on stage,’” said Jibri. “‘If you can join me in this creative, nomadic lifestyle that I’m going to embark on, I will marry you, I will propose to you.’”

These words don’t exactly align with how Jibri and Miona are living in 90 Day Fiancé Season 9.

Did Jibri lie to Miona about his lifestyle?

So far, on 90 Day Fiancé Season 9, the couple’s lifestyle hasn’t exactly been “nomadic.” Miona is living in a very different landscape than what she is used to in Serbia. She’s also living in the basement of Jibri’s parent’s house. Based on his interview quotes, it doesn’t seem that the lifestyle he promised Miona when they first met aligns with how they are living on the show.

It wasn’t until the first episode, when Miona was preparing to move to the United States, that Jibri shared the news that they’d be staying in South Dakota with his parents.

“Los Angeles is a dream that is attainable but not right now,” said Jibri during the episode. “And I hope that she can just follow me in this direction of staying in South Dakota and being more conservative with our money. And understand that we are thinking about the long-term goal, not just the present.”

The episode then showed Jibri speaking with Miona on the phone.

“I know that you don’t want to be here in South Dakota, but you can consider us saving funds and having a marriage here?”

Miona immediately shut down the idea.

“I don’t want to live there, Jibri. I really don’t,” she said. “I don’t know what’s the nicer way to say this, but if I wanted a small city life, I could have just stayed here and lived that type of life. I really don’t want to come to America and live like a 50-year-old. “

Will the couple move to a bigger city during ’90 Day Fiancé’ Season 9?

Will Jibri and Miona make a move to a bigger city? Fans won’t know exactly where the couple ends up until future episodes. However, posts from Jibri’s Instagram show that the couple may still be in South Dakota. One photo shows the couple wearing patterned sweaters. The caption says, “Midwest drip! We call it Dakota boho!”

Regardless of where Jibri and Miona are living, if they’re happy, then 90 Day Fiancé Season 9 fans are happy too.
