AB6IX Release New Album ‘Complete with You’
The K-pop group AB6IX debuted with Brand New Music in 2019. The band has four members: Jeon Woong, Kim Donghyun, Park Woojin, and Lee Daehwi. Since their debut, AB6IX have been known as a “self-producing” group, as Woong, Donghyun, Woojin, and Daehwi each play a hand in writing and producing the band’s music.
On Jan. 17, Woong, Donghyun, Woojin, and Daehwi released a new album as AB6IX called Complete with You. With the album, the members share a special message for their fan base, ABNEW.
AB6IX released an album called ‘Complete with You’
On Complete with You, “1, 2, 3” is the album’s lead single. AB6IX released a music video for the song on Jan. 17. The “1, 2, 3” music video opens in black and white. Across the screen, yellow text reads “Step 1: Planning a Serenade.”
In the music video, Woong, Donghyun, Woojin, and Daehwi dance as they sing of their plans to ask ABNEW to dance with them. The group then break into the song’s chorus, singing:
“When the fancy light shines on us / The party between you and I starts / When the music gets louder / We take fancy steps and dance / Let’s dance with me tonight.”
A third of the way through the music video, text reads “Step 2: Getting Ready for the Stage,” and the black and white transforms into color.
Just before the song’s bridge, text appears on the screen reading, “Step 3: Serenade Stage.” Together, Woong, Donghyun, Woojin, and Daehwi dance in blue velvet suits while singing the song’s final chorus.
What the members of AB6IX think of ‘Complete with You’
In a press release, the members of AB6IX shared their thoughts on releasing Complete with You and what they hope fans take away from the album.
“It’s our first album for 2022. I find it especially meaningful that it’s full of songs written by our members. I hope you will enjoy it. Thank you!” Daehwi said of the album.
Donghyun called Complete with You a “feel-good album,” saying, “The individuality and charms of each AB6IX member stand out in this feel-good album. It also features a wide range of genres. Hopefully, may people come to love it.”
Woong shared, “We greatly miss our fans during these challenging times brought on by COVID-19. This album embodies our longing and desire to be able to meet them again. Please show your interest and love! I love you, ABNEW.”
“I’ve felt good about this album primarily because it feels like we’re giving a gift to our fans. My wish is for our music to be able to comfort the listeners,” Woojin said of Complete with You.
There are five songs on ‘Complete with You’
Complete with You has five tracks; a lead single and then a solo track by each member. Every song on Complete with You features at least one credit to a member of AB6IX.
