aespa broke their own record on YouTube

In 2020, aespa debuted with a single called “Black Mamba,” and in May 2021, the band released a single called “Next Level.”

According to a press release, “Their last single ‘Next Level’ surpassed 50 million views on YouTube within 3 days, 10 hours and 20 minutes of release, heralding the birth of a new ‘mega hit.'”

With the “Savage” music video, GISELLE, WINTER, KARINA, and NINGNING set a new record on YouTube. A press release reveals that the music video for “Savage” reached 50 million views on YouTube within two days.

This set a new record on YouTube for the new SM Entertainment group and shows how popular the quartet has grown since debuting in 2020.

‘Savage’ is aespa’s first album

After releasing multiple digital singles, Savage is aespa’s first physical album. In the hours leading up to the EP’s release, the band held a press conference for reporters. Showbiz Cheat Sheet attended the Savage press conference.

During the press conference, the members of aespa emphasized how they wanted fans to see their versatility with the songs on the album.

“Many people have been anticipating and waiting for our album and we are excited and nervous at the same time to finally showcase it,” WINTER said at the press conference via a translator. “Most of all, we are happy to be able to share all the different sides of us and our unique charms through not just the title track but the B-sides as well. We hope everyone enjoys it!”

KARINA shared, “Since Savage is our first mini-album with a total of six tracks, we want to show everyone that aespa is a group that can pull off various colors and not only powerful songs such as ‘Black Mamba’ and ‘Next Level.’ Most importantly, we also want people to know that aespa’s worldview will continue to expand with new stories told through our music and performances.”
