‘American Horror Stories’: Final Episode Rumored to Feature Disastrous End for ‘Murder House’

'American Horror Stories' is the new spinoff series from Ryan Murphy, and it features plenty of characters and storylines fans recognize from 'American Horror Story.' Now, rumors suggest the finale of the spinoff shows a disastrous end for the 'murder house' in 'AHS' Season 1.

Fans of American Horror Story are excited to hear more about Ryan Murphy’s spinoff, American Horror Stories. The new series features a new story each episode, and we’re already getting callbacks to the original AHS. Now, rumors suggest the final episode of the new series features a disastrous end for the infamous “murder house” from AHS Season 1.

[Spoiler alert: Spoilers ahead for the first two episodes and the last episode of the spinoff series.]

The first episodes of ‘American Horror Stories’ feature the ‘murder house’ from ‘AHS’ Season 1

American Horror Story: Murder House sets the scene for the first two episodes of the spinoff series. The series spinoff kicks off with a new family moving into the infamous murder house fans know and love. Sierra McCormick plays Scarlett, the teen girl who moves into the home and finds the rubber man suit. After trying the suit on, she feels the dark power that comes from it. She eventually harnesses that energy to kill a number of teen bullies from her school.

The first two episodes of Stories, “Rubber(wo)Man Part 1” and “Rubber(wo)Man Part 2,” take heavy influence from the very first season of AHS. Scarlett eventually becomes one of the only survivors to leave the murder house behind.

“I think that’s really interesting that she’s like the one person that manages to make it out,” McCormick explained to The Wrap, according to Yahoo. “And maybe that’s because she actually kind of goes through her metamorphosis and is like a fully formed person who is confident in herself by the end.”

Rumors suggest the last episode of the spinoff spells doom for the ‘murder house’

American Horror Stories chooses a new tale for each episode (or, in the case of the premiere, after two episodes). So, does this mean fans are finished with the murder house, as it was already so heavily featured? It seems the storyline comes back around at the end.

Reddit users saw a spoiler account on Instagram, AHSCrave, suggest the murder house gets burned down during the season finale of the spinoff. “SPOILERS: Based on set reports, the finale of American Horror Stories will see the destruction of the Murder House — by fire!” the Instagram posted.

Fans on Reddit have mixed feelings.

“They won’t stop milking the Murder House storyline?” one fan commented. “We had enough.”

“Noooooo!!” another fan wrote. “I don’t wanna say goodbye yet!!”

So, when, and how, can fans watch American Horror Stories? FX paired with Hulu for the spinoff, so new episodes are available on Hulu on Thursdays. The season has a total of 16 episodes, according to Murphy.

“We are doing 16 one-hour stand-alone episodes delving into horror myths, legends, and lore … many of these episodes will feature AHS stars you know and love,” the creator stated on Twitter.

Fans looking for even more AHS can get excited for American Horror Story: Double Feature. Season 10 will premiere in August 2021 and has two storylines. “Two horrifying stories … one season,” Murphy’s Instagram post revealed back in March 2021. “One by the sea … one by the sand. More to come ….”
