‘American Horror Story’ season nine, entitled ‘AHS: 1984’ ended during November 2019

The ninth season of American Horror Story was, like, totally gnarly. The 10th season of FX’s series was inspired by movies like Friday the 13th, Sleepaway Camp, and The Nightmare on Elm Street, and ended, after a handful of gory episodes, during November 2019.

Complete with a stellar cast, including Billie Lourd, Cody Fern, and Lily Rabe, this season left many fans wanting more. Thankfully, we have some good news for American Horror Story fans from creator Ryan Murphy himself.

Will ‘American Horror Story’ return for season 10

Some horror fanatics wonder if there will be another season of this FX original series. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, creator Ryan Murphy discussed the future of FX’s series, American Horror Story.

“This was the season that made me think ‘okay, this show can go for 20 years,’” Murphy said of the season entitled, Roanoke. “Because we can keep playing with the format, the form. It proved to me we didn’t have to have every season be a grand spectacle. We could be raw and rough and verité.”

Some suspect that American Horror Story could return to FX for its 10th season. After that, however, the future of this Emmy-award winning series is unclear. During an interview with Deadline, Murphy revealed that the show’s cast are only contracted through ten seasons. Still, there’s plenty of ideas thrown around for upcoming episodes and themes.

After Ronoake, American Horror Story and Ryan Murphy went on to create other seasons. That includes Cult based on the 2016 presidential election. Apocalypse featured characters from previous seasons. The most recently released season, 1984, was inspired by the slasher movies of the 1980s. Now, fans are wondering who will appear in future seasons. More importantly, what creepy theme could upcoming seasons feature?

Sarah Paulson commented on returning to the series during the AHS 100th episode celebration

Whether she’s portraying the powerful Cordelia Foxx or the eccentric Hypodermic Sally, Sarah Paulson became an American Horror Story staple. Along with actors like Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson appeared in most of the episodes of this series. Although she was not on the most recently released season, AHS: 1984, she stated she would come back if other cast members did, as well.

“I would like to do something with Evan [Peters,] I miss Evan,” Paulson told TV Guide at the American Horror Story 100th episode celebration. “And I miss acting with Evan. So I’d love to have that experience again. If he’ll come back, I’m back.”

There’s no word regarding what the theme for American Horror Story’s theme for season 10 could be. However, episodes of American Horror Story, including the 2018’s Apocalypse, are available for streaming on Netflix.
