Are Kris Jenner and Caitlyn Jenner Friends?

After Kris Jenner and Caitlyn Jenner divorced in 2015, it appeared that they were maintaining a civil dynamic for the sake of their family. However, their relationship soon fell apart when the former Olympian spoke out against the momager and their marriage after publicly coming out as a transgender woman, ultimately causing a rift in their family. Now that's been a few years since all of that drama unfolded, we wonder: has the former couple made amends, or are things still a bit rocky between them? Here's everything we know so far.

Kris and Caitlyn Jenner were married for more than 20 years

Jenner first met Kris in 1990 on a blind date. According to Yahoo Celebrity (via Bustle), the pair made a love connection almost immediately as the former Olympian “quickly won her heart with his dinner order.”

“I thought, ‘I love this guy, he has meatloaf and mashies.’ It was fabulous,” Kris told The Huffington Post in 2012.

Following a five-month courtship, the pair got married in April 1991, one month after Kris’ divorce from ex-husband Robert Kardashian Sr. was finalized.

Once they were married, the couple blended their two families. While Jenner had four children — Cassandra, Burt, Brandon, and Brody — from two previous marriages, Kris brought along the four kids she had with Kardashian: Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, and Rob.

A few years after tying the knot, Caitlyn and Kris had two kids of their own: Kendall (b. 1995) and Kylie (b. 1997).

Like their famous children, the high and lows of Jenner and Kris’ relationship were well-documented on their family’s hit reality series Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Though the couple’s marriage seemed solid in the beginning, things between them began falling apart as the show — and their family — grew in popularity.

In 2013, Kris confirmed to Us Weekly that she and the former Olympian had separated, a year after rumors of marital woes circulated in the media.

The mother of six filed for divorce in September 2014, citing irreconcilable differences. Their divorce was finalized in March 2015, a month before Jenner came out as a transgender woman in a 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer.

Caitlyn Jenner had a public falling out with Kris Jenner and the Kardashian sisters

After Jenner’s 2015 transition, she and Kris went through a period of estrangement due to her 2017 memoir, The Secrets of My Life.

In the book, Jenner alleged Kris knew more about her gender identity crisis than she did and described their marriage as “acrimonious misery.” She also accused the Kardashian sisters of being “publicity-hungry.”

The memoir ultimately created a rift between Jenner and the Kardashian clan, resulting in them severing ties with her.

However, during the latest episode of KUWTK, Khloé Kardashian and Kim Kardashian West reveal that things are copacetic between them and Caitlyn.

“I talk to Caitlyn every once in a while,” the SKIMS founder explained to Scott Disick. “[She’s] definitely super supportive and checks in and stuff like that.”

“I talk to Sophia [Caitlyn’s longtime pal] very seldom-ly, and Cait probably like every blue moon,” the Good American founder revealed. “It’s just like we’re busy and it’s COVID. There’s no beef.”

As for Jenner’s current relationship with Kris, the exes are in a much better place now than they were a few years prior.

In fact, during the episode, the famed momager decided to lend Jenner a hand by offering her some advice on how she can revive her ailing career.

“You know, YouTube is a great idea,” Kris told Jenner and Hutchins over a FaceTime call. “Because, there’s so much content that you can create to make it something where it can be different all the time.”

Kris Jenner says her current relationship with Caitlyn Jenner is ‘very respectful’

Though it’s a far stretch to say Jenner and Kris are best friends, the momager recently revealed that they are respectful toward one another.

While there’s no telling if their relationship will ever be fully mending, the mother of six made it clear that she will always have a connection to her ex.

“I think it’s very respectful,” Kris said of her current relationship with Jenner during an Apr. 12 interview with the Wall Steet Journal. “She’s the father of two of my kids, and so that speaks volumes.
