‘As the World Turns’ Jon Hensley trades acting for music

After As the World Turns went off the air in September 2010, Hensley joined another CBS soap opera. From 2012 to 2013, he played Dr. Meade on The Bold and the Beautiful. Since then, he’s traded acting for a new career.

Music is one of Hensley’s passions, and with the help of songwriting pals, he embarked on a career as a musician. In November 2021, he released the single “I See Heaven.” Fans will also be hearing more of Hensley’s lovely voice. According to his official website, his debut album will be released sometime later in 2022.

Aside from singing, Hensley is also busy being a dad. He has three kids from his marriage to former As the World Turns co-star Kelley Menighan. The couple was married from 1996 to 2015.

Holden Snyder’s history

In October 1985, Hensley made his debut as Holden on As the World Turns, a role he’d play off and on for 25 years. Hensley immediately wowed fans with his portrayal of the hunky farmboy. Holden’s relationship with Lily Snyder (Martha Byrne) would make them the show’s most iconic couple.

However, the pair had many challenges during their 25-year love affair. One of their earliest obstacles was that Lily’s biological parents were Iva Snyder (Lisa Brown) and Josh Snyder (William Fichtner). However, Holden and Lily weren’t blood-related because Iva and Josh were adopted.

As they grew into adulthood, the couple married and started a family, including Lily’s son Luke (Van Hansis) from her marriage to Damian Grimaldi (Paolo Seganti). However, like many couples, their relationship was plagued by many issues, including infidelity on both sides. Despite separating numerous times, the couple reunited by the end of the show.

Played Dr. Meade on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’

Nearly two years after As the World Turns‘ cancellation, Hensley returned to daytime TV on The Bold and the Beautiful. Hensley’s character Dr. Meade became the go-to medical professional for the Logan and Forrester families. Katie Logan (Heather Tom) and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) were a few of his patients.
