Crime-solving librarian Aurora Teagarden has closed the book on her last case. Hallmark’s long-running mystery series – which starred Candace Cameron Bure as the title character – has come to an end, the network has confirmed. While there won’t be any more movies in the series, fans can still stream some of the existing movies in the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries series.

Hallmark cancels ‘Aurora Teagarden Mysteries’

Bure first played Aurora Teagarden in 2015’s A Bone to Pick. She’s since starred in 17 more movies in the series. The most recent, Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Haunted By Murder, aired in Feburary 2022 and featured Bure’s real-life daughter Natasha Bure playing a younger version of her mother’s character.

Unfortunately for fans, that movie was a swan song for the series. Hallmark confirmed in April 2022 that it had no plans for future movies. The news came after the Fuller House star announced her move to the rival GAC Family network.

The series also starred Lexa Doig as Aurora’s friend Sally Allison, Marilu Henner as her mother Aida Teagarden, and Niall Matter as her boyfriend (and later husband) Nick Miller.

Though no new Aurora Teagarden movies will be airing on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, existing movies will continue to air on the network.

Fans can also stream several of the movies on Hallmark’s streaming app, Hallmark Movies Now. As of May 2022, six Aurora Teagarden movies are streaming on the app.

  • Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: A Bundle of Trouble
  • Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Dead Over Heels
  • Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: The Julius House
  • Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Three Bedrooms, One Corpse
  • Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: A Bone to Pick
  • Real Murders: An Aurora Teagarden Mystery

Several movies in the series – though not all – are available for purchase on Prime Video. Some movies may also be able to watch on demand on live TV streaming services that carry Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, such as YouTubeTV and FrndlyTV.

The Aurora Teagarden Mysteries are not streaming on Netflix or Hulu.

In a 2021 interview with Parade, Bure talked about playing Aurora and what she had learned from the character.

She’s a very determined person. I am too, but she’s a little more outward,” the actor said. “She’s unafraid of busting into a room or chasing after the bad guy. I love that about her, so it’s encouraged me in my own life. She helps me think of determination in a more physical sense.”

Bure went on to compare the series to another popular mystery program: Murder, She Wrote.

“These very much remind me of Angela Lansbury and Murder, She Wrote, and all the old mysteries back from the ’80s and even the ’70s. That’s why I love them. Kids love watching these by the way. I get so many messages, especially moms and dads that have sons and daughters … a lot of kids love the mysteries because it keeps their brain working as they’re trying to figure it out. And so I love getting those messages. If they did have blood and guts, you would never have kids watch, so that’s the beauty of these mysteries.”
