After a two-year hiatus, Bachelor in Paradise is back with what promises, as always, to be the most dramatic season yet. This season welcomes back familiar faces from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. This year, a few Bachelor in Paradise alums are also returning. Of the BIP alums, none guarantee to cause a stir more than Demi Burnett.

Demi Burnett left ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Season 6 engaged

After her appearance on Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor, Burnett joined the cast of Bachelor in Paradise Season 6. Though she entered into a relationship with Derek Peth on the show, her heart was with a former girlfriend from home, Kristian Haggerty.

Midway through the season, Haggerty joined the cast of Bachelor in Paradise to win back Burnett. The two were the first same-sex couple ever featured in the Bachelor franchise. At the end of the season, Burnett proposed to Haggerty.

After exiting the series, however, the strain of long-distance wore down on the couple. Burnett and Haggerty ended their relationship less than a year after leaving Paradise.

“With a heavy heart full of love for one another we have decided it is best for us to take a step back from our relationship. We ultimately want what is best for us in the long run and for us right now, that means being apart and growing individually,” Haggerty wrote on Instagram

Her arrival worries this season’s contestants

After her breakup, Burnett is back to looking for love on Bachelor in Paradise. After telling new host David Spade that she’s looking forward to causing trouble, she entered the beach.

“Those poor girls,” she said in a preview for the second episode. “I’m going to steal all their men.”

‘Bachelor in Paradise’: Proof Kenny Braasch Wasn’t Naked

A sneak peek for the second episode shows Demi talking to Connor Brennan, Brendan Morais, and Kenny Braasch. All three men formed budding connections in the first episode.

“If Demi asks Connor on a date, I’ll be upset because I fell quick and hard for Connor,” said Maurissa Gunn.

“Brendan is the person who I feel most connected with, so if I’m not getting Brendan’s rose, I don’t know necessarily what other rose I’m going to get,” added Natasha Parker.

For her part, Burnett appears gleeful about the drama she’s sparking, adopting the moniker Category Four Hurricane Demi.

“I will literally light this place on fire,” she said.

Demi Burnett was on ‘The Celebrity Dating Game’ earlier this year

In June 2021, Burnett attempted to find love on another show. She appeared on an episode of The Celebrity Dating Game alongside Taye Diggs.

In it, Burnet had three potential matches, Sarah Stiverson, Jamele Mason, and Jordan Harvey. Though her appearance on Paradise hints that she didn’t find a lasting connection on The Celebrity Dating Game, Burnett proved that she’s eager to find love wherever she can.
