Serena and Joe met in the Bachelor in Paradise Season 7 premiere. Early on, Joe wasn’t sure whether he wanted to continue the show because the beach reminded him of falling in love with Kendall in season 5. However, one conversation with Serena had Joe changing his mind.

As Bachelor in Paradise continued, fans watched as Joe and Serena fell in love. The reality stars seemed at ease with each other. Then when Thomas Jacobs took Serena on a date, she came back to Joe.

Eventually, the BIP producers brought Kendall back to the beach, and it seemed like she still had feelings for Joe. Of course, everyone was uncomfortable with the situation. But regardless, Joe made it clear that his priority was Serena. Kendall also decided to leave on her own. Now, Joe and Serena are headed toward the Bachelor in Paradise finale together.

During the Talking It Out podcast, Serena revealed that she spoke to Joe about Kendall’s potential arrival before it even happened on Bachelor in Paradise. Serena also noted that Joe remained honest with her about the situation and reassured her that she was his priority. Then Serena explained how Kendall and Joe’s reunion impacted her relationship. She said:

“Kendall coming down did not change my feelings for Joe. And yes, it definitely tested our relationship in a very unique way. But I admired how he handled the situation, both how he treated myself and Kendall. It kind of just made my feelings grow stronger for him. I would say looking back, it strengthened our relationship.”
