Geoffrey took ‘leave of absence’ during ‘Bel-Air’ Season 1 Episode 9

The Banks family attended church together, and Carlton (Olly Sholotan) kicked off the sermon with his rendition of Marvin Sapp’s “The Best In Me.” However, his voice cracked halfway through, and the lacrosse player ran off the stage, seemingly having a panic attack.

Will (Jabari Banks) later checks on his cousin, who reveals his history with anxiety. Additionally, Hilary (Coco Jones) still hadn’t told her parents the entire truth about her breached contract. Meanwhile, Aunt Viv (Cassandra Freeman) met with members of the council who invited her to the fellowship. While she wanted to accept, the artist didn’t know if she could meet the requirements for the position.

Geoffrey (Jimmy Akingbola) secretly gave Will information on his father but warned the teenager of the drama it could cause. Therefore, he told Uncle Phil he wouldn’t pursue it, unknowingly straining the relationship with Geoffrey more. The aspiring DA confronted his house manager, who admitted he would protect the family, even if it meant going against Uncle Phil. Not wanting to raise questions, Geoffrey opted to take a leave of absence when his boss fired him.

Shortly before the debate, Lisa (Simone Joy Jones) learned of Will’s arrest and confronted him before warning her boyfriend that her dad planned to use it against Uncle Phil. In response, the patriarch chose to withdraw from the race to tend to his family and encouraged his wife to take the fellowship offer.

Episode 10 is the ‘Bel-Air’ Season 1 finale

Next week wraps up the first season with its series finale. The episode title and description haven’t been released yet. But, it will likely include the fallout of Uncle Phil’s decision to withdraw from the political race and what’s next for his relationship with Geoffrey.

Additionally, Aunt Viv will likely accept the fellowship position. As Carlton claimed he flushed the rest of his drugs following his talk with Will, the upcoming episode will probably explore him looking for other ways to manage his anxiety.

It might also feature the repercussions of Hilary breaking into her former influencer house to steal her stuff back, as her family will probably figure out the truth behind her breaching the contract.

Finally, Lisa seemingly dumped Will after discovering his arrest. The finale will probably cover where their relationship stands, heading into the next season if it’s renewed. Bel-Air airs Thursdays on Peacock.
