Captain Lee Rosbach from Below Deck typically doesn’t hold back when he’s angry with a crew member. But former chief stew Kate Chastain said there’s one clue crew (and guests) should look for that indicates Rosbach is getting ready to blow.

She made the observation during Below Deck Galley Talk when several fan-favorite crew members dished about a recent episode. Rosbach appeared in the doorway holding his radio, which is when Chastain dished about how she knows when Rosbach is getting angry.

“If it’s here to his head, it means he’s pissed,” she said pointing to the television where Rosbach puts the radio to his head. “If he’s out on deck swinging it by the antenna, he’s looking to make sure you’re doing what you’re supposed to be doing.”

Rosbach was seen pressing his radio to his head when chief stew Francesa Rubi came to him in tears. He likely uses this move too when he’s stressed or generally agitated.

Of course Captain Lee often just lets it rip

The crew and viewers are going to get a taste of what it’s like to really anger Rosbach. Below Deck Galley Talk showed crew members viewing the upcoming episode when Rosbach boots a group of charter guests from the boat. One drunken guest decides to go for a midnight swim and defies Rosbach when he orders her back on the boat.

Previews show the Below Deck Galley Talk crew stunned and shocked as they preview the episode. Rosbach was furious, to say the least. He also tweeted about the upcoming episode. “It is a Below Deck first for me ever, and the series,” he shared, referring to the episode. “But I do not regret it, but you will have to watch to see exactly who prompted that visceral response.”

Rosbach is beyond the point of pressing the radio to his head when the guest jumps in the water. “Get your godd*mn a** back to this boat,” Rosbach is seen barking at the guest in the water. “Now!”

How bad does it get?

Bravo offered a preview of the explosive episode. “Dolores diving into the water is the ultimate f**k you to the captain,” Rosbach said in a confessional about the guest who jumped into the water.

“She’s drunk, it’s dark, I don’t need somebody jeopardizing their own life on my watch,” he said. “That is not f**king going to happen.” The crew understands the gravity of the situation. Chief stew Francesca Rubi expresses the seriousness of the scenario in a confessional. “She’s like totally disrespecting Captain Lee. She’s disrespecting me, she’s disrespecting all of the crew. It’s about safety. This has reached another level. It’s just mental.”

Rosbach and the guest have a spicy exchange while she treads water. She tries to appeal to his softer side, asking him if he’s angry with her. The guest then tells him she’s paid for this vacation. “I don’t give a sh*t what you paid,” he barked.

He returns to the table where the rest of the guests wait for him. “I hate to tell you this, but your charter is over,” he tells the guests. “She’s in the water. She’s drunk. And she won’t come out. We’re going to head back to the dock because I’m not putting up with this.”

Below Deck is on Monday at 9/8c on Bravo.
