The Below Deck Sailing Yacht bizarre love triangle is flying its freak flag during an upcoming episode as Gary King tries to ditch Sydney Zaruba for Alli Dore.

Unfortunately for King, he made his bed and seemingly has to lie in it. Despite trying to friendzone Zaruba after they hooked up on the first night, she isn’t taking a hint. In fact, she pursues him even more and tells Dore to back off because she’s caught feelings for him.

Which crew member will go to bed first?

King, Zaruba, and Dore get drunk and then go for a swim at night, even though Captain Glenn Shephard told the crew to make it an early night because they were picking up charter the next day. But the trio stays up drinking long after the rest of the crew goes to bed.

The crew members almost play chicken, trying to see who would go to bed first. They keep drinking even after they went swimming. Meanwhile, King and Dore sit next to the bar while Zaruba searches for her phone.

“What are we still doing awake,” King wonders as the camera shows it is around 2 am. “F**k, you are so hot,” he tells Dore. He walks toward her perhaps for a kiss but is interrupted by Zaruba. “Are you being mean to me?” Zaruba asks.

“I’m in a little bit of a tight place here,” King says in a confessional. “Cuz Sydney does have feelings for me. But I don’t feel the same way for her as I do Alli. I’m mean, she’s a sweet girl but what do I even do now?”

King heads off to bed, which is when Zaruba confesses to Dore she has feelings for King. “I like Gary,” Zaruba says to Dore. “I’m not stupid. I know you guys flirt. Like I’m not dumb.”

Dore cringes and looks uncomfortable. “Anything you’ve felt, I’ve seen,” Zaruba continues. Dore explains they flirt and have chemistry, but backs off. “I didn’t realize you liked him that much,” Dore says. “I feel really bad.”

“It’s not like I want to like him,” Zaruba says. “But I do. Like why the f**k …” Dore tells her the whole situation is not her thing anymore and plans to back off. That’s when Zaruba bursts into tears.

Chief stew Daisy Kelliher teased to Showbiz Cheat Sheet that the season had plenty of tears due to the complicated relationships. “There were a lot of love triangles,” she said. “And love foursomes. I don’t know what was going on. I couldn’t keep up with people, to be honest.”

“I think people want to think that sex is just fun,” Kelliher added. “But sex always leads to tears. Like it always does. Like, oh we’re just having a good time and then the next morning you’re on. And that was fun … but not if it always leads to tears.”

The situation gets even more awkward when Zaruba slides into King’s bunk after he makes it clear he wants to sleep solo. Stay tuned when Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs on Monday at 9/8c on Bravo.
