Was Dani Soares from Below Deck Sailing Yacht trying to end her boatmance with Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux when he said he was ready to embark upon a serious relationship?

Soares made it clear she was ready for marriage and babies. In fact, she joked with him at dinner that she was going to move to the U.S. and they could get married. He looked a little stunned but later said he was ready to take the big step into a serious relationship. And while settling down seemed to be Soares’ goal was she trying to end it with him instead?

Dani Soares thought their age difference was too vast

“I didn’t come here to find anything,” he admitted. “It found me, you know? And I think what you and me have is something very special. I mean I can’t help but say that I do have feelings for you and my mindset is now I’m actually ready to start spending my time with one person.”

“I like you,” Soares said to Cerza-Lanaux. “And I feel like the more I get to know you, I like you more. But, I feel like this is literally your best years. And I think you will regret wasting it. At some point.” The couple has a 10 year age difference and Cerza-Lanaux was in his early twenties. Earlier in the season, he shared that he never had a long-term serious relationship and only knew was it was like to play the dating field.

“I get where her heart is but her taking away my twenties is an excuse,” he said in a confessional. “She needs to get over it, and at the end of the day if you have two people who really care about one another, then they’ll make it work.”

Does Dani Soares regret getting into a romance with J.L. Cerza-Lanaux?

“I know that you’re at the point to where you’re ready to start settling down,” he said to her. “And possibly having a family. I’m not saying that I’m not ready for that, because I think I am. But I just won’t know until I get into something like that. I guess what I’m trying to say, if you did want to start taking this somewhere, I would be completely open to that.”

Soares is seen soaking in this information. She later confided in Alli Dore that Cerza-Lanaux has feelings for her. “I don’t see how this could actually work,” she is seen telling him in the preview for the upcoming episode. “I wanna have babies! Let’s have sex tonight. And if I get pregnant, that’s God’s will!”

Several months later, Soares welcomed a baby girl. She did not go public with her pregnancy until she was well into her third trimester and only offered a few details. She announced her daughter was born on May 29. “She is here. She is perfect. And we trying to figure this thing out. We both healthy and happy. Thank you for all the support,” she shared on Instagram.
