‘Below Deck’: Was Captain Lee Angrier With the Drunk Season 9 Charter Guests Than He Was With Delores Flora?
Which charter guest made Captain Lee Rosbach from Below Deck angrier? According to Rosbach, hands down Justin Richards made him about as mad as he could get, sharing that he took the new spot as “the worst” after charter guest Delores Flora briefly occupied it.
A fan asked Rosbach on Twitter if he was “More angered than Delores jumping off boat kinda unhappy?” Rosbach replied, “Oh, hell yes!!!”
Below Deck’s Captain Lee is ‘livid’ at Justin Richards
A Below Deck preview teases Rosbach’s building anger when first officer Eddie Lucas fills him in on Richards’ drunken and threatening behavior. Richards told chief stew Heather Chase to throw herself off the boat and to go f**k herself. Drunk guest behavior annoys Rosbach, but threatening the crew takes it to an entirely different level.
“I am not going to tolerate this,” Rosbach says in an upcoming episode. “My crew is not here to be abused. I’m gonna have a discussion with them as soon as we get to the anchorage. This is not going to happen again.”
“I’m livid. Pissed on chickens can’t compare,” he says in a confessional. “I can’t talk to him right now because I’ll lose it. But this will be a come to Jesus meeting.”
The ‘Below Deck’ guests earn ‘the worst’ spot for Captain Lee
Rosbach added more context to his anger in his weekly blog. “I have done probably hundreds of charters. Some were great, some not so much. But in all that time, I do not recall a group that I had more dislike for than this bunch. Believe me, I have tried to come up with a descriptive term for how out of place they were, but I couldn’t think of one I could print, and let me tell you something, that speaks volumes. In case anyone missed it, I am from Michigan.”
“Just wanted to set the record straight for clarification,” he added. “I do hope I don’t have the displeasure of having these people on my boat again, unless they make a miraculous recovery during the 2nd half of their charter.”
Cameras capture primary guest Michael Durham trying to piece together what occurred the night before because he went to bed before Richards really turned up his anger. Durham visits Richards in his cabin and Richards complains that he has a hangover. But he also knows that he could be in trouble and warns Durham they may get kicked off the boat.
How did Delores Flora earn ‘the worst’ charter guest spot?
Rosback kicked off Flora when she defied him and went swimming at night while drunk. Flora was a charter guest on Below Deck Season 8 and he was furious when she refused to return to the boat. He initially told all of the guests that their charter was over. But he softened the next day and allowed the guests to stay – most of them. Flora was still escorted off of the boat.
“Delores diving into the water is the ultimate f**k you to the captain,” Rosbach said in a confessional during the episode as Flora swam in the dark asking for food. “She’s drunk, it’s dark, I don’t need somebody jeopardizing their own life on my watch. That is not f**king going to happen.”
Rosbach returned to the rest of the guests and lowered the boom in his rage. “I hate to tell you this, but your charter is over,” he told the rest of the guests. “She’s in the water. She’s drunk. And she won’t come out. We’re going to head back to the dock because I’m not putting up with this.”
