The best dressed Oscars 2021 celebrities weren’t who we were expecting. While the event was quiet due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, celebrities still brought the glitz and the glamour we know and love.

Cosmopolitan notes Regina King’s stunning Louis Vuitton dress was a showstopper. She directed One Night in Miami and wore an iridescent, sparkling blue gown.

Actors Carey Mulligan, Zendaya, Andra Day, and Angela Bassett also pulled out all the stops. Mulligan wore a gold ball gown by Valentino Couture, and Day also stunned in gold with a sleek Vera Wang cut-out gown. Zendaya’s yellow dress was bright and flowing with a cut-out in the center. And Bassett stunned in a red Alberta Ferretti gown with large puffed sleeves.

The men also came dressed to impress. But it was Questlove’s Oscars footwear that stole the show. The Roots’ drummer sported gold Crocs on the red carpet, setting off a flurry of talk.

It’s not easy to be considered the best dressed at the Oscars, especially in 2021. But Questlove has everyone talking about Crocs now that he’s made them a fashion statement. Questlove’s Oscars look came complete with an all-black suit and gold Crocs — and the show have everyone talking.

So, how much were Questlove’s Oscars Crocs? It seems the shoes were either custom-made or spray painted, and many fans are settling on spray painted. If the Crocs are painted, that likely puts them at a significantly cheaper price. According to the Crocs website, the Classic Clog comes in around $50. With the addition of a bottle of gold spray paint, the shoes wer likely only around $60 total — and we’re willing to bet plenty of folks will be sporting the look now that Questlove did it first.

So, will Crocs offer a gold Croc now that Questlove’s causing such a stir? While the Crocs website doesn’t appear to offer them, Amazon does. For $41.90, fans can get their own pair of gold clogs. The clogs are suitable for both men and women’s sizing. DSW offers a similarly colored Croc with a metallic finish for $44.99.

What is Questlove worth?

Questlove’s Oscars look — particularly his shoes — likely didn’t cost as much as a few of the lavish gowns we saw on the best dressed Oscars 2021 lists. But he could certainly afford custom gold Crocs if he did go that route. Questlove has a net worth of $14 million.

As for how the musician earned his riches, it all started with music. Those who watch The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon likely recognize Questlove from the in-house band, The Roots. Aside from the band, he’s also written books, starred in movies and TV shows, talked on podcasts, and helped produce music for other artists. Not only that, but he has a documentary coming out called Summer of Soul. The movie centers around the Harlem Cultural Festival of 1969, otherwise known as the “Black Woodstock.”

We’re excited to see what Questlove gets up to in the future, and if the gold Crocs make any future appearances.
