Bethenny Frankel Was Paris Hilton’s Nanny Before ‘RHONYC’ Fame

Bethenny Frankel is an entrepreneur, author, and television personality who is known to people all over the world due to her multiple businesses — and of course, her lengthy stint on the TV show The Real Housewives of New York City. A celebrity who has often been in the headlines due to her feuds with other reality stars or because of her romantic relationships, Frankel has had a wide variety of jobs over the years. In an October 2020 episode of her podcast, Just B with Bethenny Frankel, the pop culture personality opened up about one of her little-known early jobs — Paris Hilton’s babysitter.

Frankel was born in New York City in 1970. She moved around frequently as a child, but ultimately, by the time she was a young woman, she decided that she wanted to pursue a career as an actor and moved to LA. During the early ’90s, Frankel auditioned for various acting roles all while working odd jobs to make ends meet, supporting herself in the often cutthroat world of upper-class California.

It was during this time that Frankel was hired as a nanny by Kathy Hilton, the mother of Paris and Nicky Hilton. “She was a jack of all trades,” Hilton later revealed in an interview with Bravo. “She helped me cook. She helped me pick the kids up at school, whatever.”

What did Bethenny Frankel say about babysitting Paris Hilton?

Frankel herself has been transparent about her time as a nanny for the Hilton family, opening up on her podcast, Just B with Bethenny Frankel about the experience. On the episode, as reported by People Magazine, Frankel chatted with Paris Hilton, reminiscing about old times: “Part of the job became coming, in my Ford Probe, to get you and Nicky from Lycée, this sort of fancy French school…And I remember, we’d go with Kyle [Richards] to the Mobile Mart or the gas station after. And I would take you guys ice skating. Do you remember that? Because you were young.”

After Paris Hilton revealed that she remembers those times, with Frankel taking her and her sister to stores like Rampage. “It’s so cute that we’ve known each other for so long. And look how far you’ve come, boss babe. A nanny to Paris Hilton, and now killing it!” Hilton said.

What is Bethenny Frankel best known for these days?

Frankel has always had a fierce work ethic and a drive to succeed — and after she nannied for the Hiltons for some time, she moved on to her next venture. The entrepreneur sold scarves, launched a healthy bakery, and landed a spot on The Apprentice: Martha Stewart. It was her stint on the show that helped her to gain exposure to television audiences, and she went on to land a role on The Real Housewives of New York City in 2008.

Frankel achieved real fame after she began starring in the series, and in the years that followed, she became one of Bravo’s biggest stars. She utilized her success from the show to launch more businesses, including the wildly popular Skinnygirl lifestyle brand, which includes drink mixes, shapewear, candy, salad dressings, and much more.

These days, Frankel is also a bestselling author and also recently launched a brand-new series for HBO Max, The Big Shot with Bethenny. Still, it is clear that she has never forgotten where she came from — and how hard she’s worked to achieve the success that she has now.
