‘Big Bang Theory’ Star Kaley Cuoco Reveals How Husband Karl Cook Solves One Problem From Her First Marriage

The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco is happily married to Karl Cook. Cook is Cuoco’s second marriage. She and tennis player Ryan Sweeting divorced in 2016. Cuoco says she learned a lot about marriage from her first one, and that’s how she knows she’s on better footing with Cook.

Cuoco was a guest on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast on Nov. 9. The Big Bang Theory star spoke openly about her first and current marriage, and why Cook is a better fit.

Even though Sweeting had his own career in sports, Cuoco said her fame and success on The Big Bang Theory was a problem for him. It’s not a problem with equestrian Cook. 

“I was married previously,” Cuoco told Shepard. “Even with that person, that was a big problem. I was like I have to be with someone who really has their own — whether they’re famous or not — their own life. I think what’s so cool about Karl and everyone that’s gotten to know him, he loves his life. He loves his equestrian world. He’s so cool in that arena, literally in that arena, so he gets so fulfilled.”

When Cuoco is acting, whether on The Big Bang Theory or her upcoming The Flight Attendant, she’s working. When she attends Cook’s riding and jumping shows, she becomes a giddy fan.

He’s a professional show jumper so he travels all over the world, he’s on big teams and shows for our country [and] he’s very well known on the west coast. I say that because it’s a worldwide sport and it goes crazy. So he does very well in what he does. It’s so important, because I love horses so much and I love riding, I love what he does so much that I get obsessed with his lifestyle. I’m the one that’s like, This was so cool, you did so good today.’ It’s an interesting community and an interesting job that he has. We both share that passion and he loves it.

Karl Cook holds his own in Kaley Cuoco’s social media world too

Part of Cuoco’s job is to have a presence on social media. Athletes do too, but Cuoco was the one who got Cook onto Instagram. 

“I made him join instagram maybe about a year ago,” Cuoco said. “His Instagram is very funny but really quick he got 400,000 followers but he always laughs because they’re all my followers. He goes, ‘They’re just your followers who follow me now to see pictures of me.’”

Knowing a lot of Big Bang Theory fans are following him, Cook has fun posting random photos of Cuoco.

“By the way, horrific pictures of me,” Cuoco said. “That’s his Instagram is just trolling me which is great. That’s what he does. He posts just horrible things about me and he’s gotten quite a little following with apparently haters of me. He’s really formed his own little thing. It’s working out well for him.”
