During Week 5 of Big Brother 22, Memphis Garrett mocked Ian Terry’s rocking, a self-soothing technique for his autism, with a few houseguests laughing and “egging” it on, namely Nicole Franzel. Upset by her actions, fans began tweeting her Instagram and podcast sponsors. Olay Skin promptly responded and claimed they cut all business ties with the BB18 winner.

Nicole Franzel set up well so far in ‘Big Brother 22’

As one of the only winners returning for Big Brother 22, season 18 champ Nicole Franzel wanted to get herself in a good position quickly. Therefore, she created a Final Two with BB16 co-star and runner-up Cody Calafiore on Day 1.

Nicole also got very close with Dani Donato Briones, her friend outside of the house. Additionally, she formed another Final Two with the other winner Ian Terry. Memphis Garrett brought the BB18 winner into an alliance, The Committee, alongside Christmas Abbott, Cody, and Dani.

She also joined the Four Prime with Cody and Dani, created by Ian. The podcast host had an agreement that she wouldn’t nominate Da’Vonne Rogers due to their previous experience playing together and later agreed to an all-girls alliance, including them, Christmas, and Dani.

Even though fans have warned the houseguests about Nicole by using bullhorns and banners to spread messages about her gameplay, only a couple plan to nominate the BB18 winner soon.

Nicole Franzel participated in the mocking of Ian Terry

During the first couple of weeks of the competition, Ian opened up to Kaysar Ridha, Janelle Pierzina, and Nicole Anthony about his autism. He called the Big Brother house “autistic hell” and explained that rocking back and forth soothes him.

Even though they were supportive, the three were all eliminated back-to-back shortly following the conversation. After their evictions, Christmas, Dani, and Nicole F. hung out in the Key Room and began discussing how Ian’s self-soothing technique of rocking makes them uncomfortable.

Dani told Nicole that his constant movement “stresses” her out, and the BB18 champ agreed. Memphis described Ian as the “redrum” of the house, a reference to the horror film, The Shining.

He also claimed he thought he might have nightmares of Ian standing over him and rocking back and forth. The three ladies laughed at Memphis’ remarks, which many perceived as “egging” the behavior on.

Olay Skin has canceled business ties with Nicole Franzel

Several fans and former houseguests took issue with them making fun of Ian, and they called the allies out on Twitter. Kaysar, Janelle, and Nicole A. all responded to the situation and claimed they were disgusted by the behavior.

Many fans felt brands shouldn’t support Nicole F. due to her laughing at the mocking, and tweeted the clip to her Instagram and podcast sponsors.

Olay Skin responded to several viewers and stated it “no longer has a business relationship” with Nicole F. as it has a “zero-tolerance for bullying” and doesn’t support her “behavior.” One follower thanked the company for its quick action, noting, “really happy to see a brand I use every day taking a stand.”

Another sponsor of the BB18 champ, winery Chateau Ste. Michelle also responded and insisted it “don’t tolerate discrimination of any kind.” The team promised to “review the matter” and “follow-up” with their appropriate “course of action.”

This is not the first time houseguests’ behavior inside the house affected their real lives as several BB15 stars lost their jobs due to racially charged remarks they made. Big Brother 22: All-Stars airs Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
