Big Brother always ends with the jury asking the final two people questions. Derek “Big D” Frazier had to answer questions about his game, and the jury couldn’t help but laugh at some of them.

[SPOILER ALERT: Spoilers ahead for the winner of Big Brother 23.]

Derek Frazier made it to the final two on ‘Big Brother 23’

The final three of the season were Azah Awasum, Xavier Prather, and Derek. This was pretty shocking, given Derek didn’t win a single competition and Azah won very few.

But in the end, Xavier won the final Head of Household. He picked Derek to sit next to him before the jury and evicted Azah.

Fans have anticipated that this would be an uphill battle for Derek to win, given his performance in the game. The jury also knew it would be hard for Derek to explain his game, but they gave him a few questions before their vote.

The jury laughs at Big D’s answers to their questions

The jury had questions for Derek and Xavier before voting. Britini D’Angelo asked him to name two key decisions he made on his own. “So number one, I started The Cookout, all six members,” he claimed. “Number two, every time there was a HOH person in charge, I made sure to come there with actual facts that was gonna target someone outside The Cookout. I always put The Cookout before myself.”

He also claimed he always made decisions by himself. “I owe nobody nothin’. Anyone can get it at any moment, and ya’ll know that,” he said. Some jury members started laughing.

Hannah Chaddha told him some people felt like he was there for fame instead of the game and asked how he responds to that. “I made it clear coming into here that yes, I did wanna be on TV, but I was here for bigger reasons,” he answered. “I made it clear that I wanted to be here to help my mother, and it was an opportunity for money to be on the line.”

He then claimed he did play the game. Derek said everyone was sitting in those seats because he entertained them and sent them home the entire time. Again, the jury members starting laughing.

Sarah Beth Steagall then asked Derek, other than starting fights to throw off suspicion on The Cookout, what did he contribute to the alliance. He repeated that he was in the ear of people who won HOH. Derek also claimed if there was something that needed to be done then he made sure it was executed.

After the questions, Derek and Xavier gave a final speech explaining why they should win. Xavier won with the vote of 9-0, but Derek said he was happy with being runner-up when Xavier chose him. Xavier will be getting $750,000 and Derek will get $75,000.

Derek also revealed he’s the son of boxing legend “Smokin'” Joe Frazier. Xavier claimed he would have still taken Derek to the end if he knew. It looks like everything worked out in the end for Derek even though he had a rocky jury segment.
