Tiffany Mitchell is the new Head of Household for ‘Big Brother 23’ Week 8

After failing to flip the vote to save Christian Birkenberger during Week 5, Tiffany Mitchell attempted to convince her Cookout allies to keep another physical threat she had a personal relationship with, Derek Xiao.

However, the majority agreed he threatened their games the most, and she had to let him go. Tiffany finally gained control after his eviction by winning Head of Household, becoming the second female HOH of the season.

But, the Coin of Destiny winner, who could anonymously change her nominations, jeopardized her reign and her alliance’s standings.

Going into Week 8, Cookout members Derek “Big D” Frazier and potentially Hannah Chaddha, if she received enough votes from the viewers, were the only ones who had enough BB Bucks to compete for the final power.

However, after the HOH competition, all houseguests randomly chose an envelope that contained $50 – $100 BB Bucks. Coupled with America’s vote, others could become eligible as well.

She nominated Kyland Young and Sarah Beth Steagall for eviction

Initially, the Cookout planned to target Sarah Beth Steagall last week, but she won HOH. On top of the fact that she believes Sarah Beth is coming for her, Tiffany has wanted to target her.

She later warned SB before the ceremony, admitting she planned on nominating her and Kyland Young or another duo Xavier Prather and Alyssa Lopez as she lost her close ally, Derek X.

Ultimately, Tiffany stuck to the plan and nominated Kyland and Sarah Beth, with the latter as her target. Xavier is already a third nominee due to a punishment he accepted for the Power of Veto last week.

After the ceremony, the HOH privately spoke with Sarah Beth and told her she wanted Kyland out of the house but had to nominate them both to take away a vote from him and guarantee she wouldn’t use the POV on him.

Following their talk, Tiffany admitted she lied to make Sarah Beth feel she isn’t the target because she wants her jury vote.

Claire Rehfuss won the Coin of Destiny and kept nominations the same

The houseguests then went to the High Rollers Room where they opened their envelopes and learned how much America awarded them.

While it’s unclear the amount each player received, it’s believed Claire Rehfuss, Hannah, and Tiffany placed in the viewers’ top three, earning $100 BB Bucks, Big D, Kyland, and Xavier received $75, and Azah Awasum, Alyssa, and Sarah Beth walked away with $50.

Therefore, regardless of what amounts the envelopes contained, Big D, Claire, and Hannah were eligible to compete. It’s unsure who participated, but Claire won and chose to keep nominations the same.
