Sarah Beth Steagall nominated Derek Frazier and Claire Rehfuss for eviction

Following Britni D’Angelo’s eviction, the houseguests faced off for the power of Head of Household. The next target of the six-person alliance, The Cookout, Sarah Beth Steagall, pulled out the win, becoming the season’s first female HOH.

Later that night, she held multiple one-on-one conversations with houseguests to decide who to nominate, as she wanted to guarantee someone used the power this week.

After speaking with last week’s HOH and her number one ally Kyland Young for several hours, Sarah Beth nominated Derek Frazier and Claire Rehfuss again. She explained she wouldn’t mind if either went home and planned to backdoor a bigger target if either came off the block.

However, the HOH told her nominees she put them up because she knew they had someone in the house who would play for the power in hopes of saving them.

Alyssa Lopez won the Chopping Block Roulette, replacing Derek F. with Xavier Prather

By voting for their favorite houseguests, the viewers can award them with BB Bucks. $100 is given to the top three, $75 to the next three, and the rest receive $50 to compete in the High Rollers room for powers that could flip the house.

Derek F. and Derek Xiao received a total of $200 from the viewers. However, Derek F., or Big D, competed in the Veto Derby last week, leaving him with $150 moving forward as Derek X. still has his total amount.

Although Claire, Kyland, and Sarah Beth used all their money last week, viewers have replenished their stashes with $50, except for Claire, who received $100. Azah Awasum, who has a total of $100, and Xavier Prather, who has $150, have not used their money yet.

Additionally, Tiffany has $75 after attempting to compete in the Veto Derby. Hannah Chaddha and Alyssa Lopez also haven’t participated in a game yet, leaving them with $150 and $125, respectively.

They chose to go for the Chopping Block Roulette, which allowed a houseguest to remove someone from the block if they won. The roulette wheel then decided the replacement nominee instead of the HOH.

Alyssa won and saved Derek F., randomly putting up her close ally Xavier in his spot.

Sarah Beth likely going to backdoor Derek Xiao

According to Alyssa, she removed Big D from the block at Sarah Beth’s request, noting she didn’t want to go against her plans. Therefore, Claire and Xavier are the nominees before the Power of Veto competition.

While Claire seemed a little frustrated, he isn’t worried about sitting on the block as he has five guaranteed votes in the Cookout alliance. Additionally, he believes he can win the POV and save himself.

Sarah Beth has already noted she doesn’t want either nominee to join the jury and instead is debating on backdooring Derek X., the biggest physical threat remaining.

She and her nominees, including Azah, Alyssa, and Big D, will face off for the POV, which will likely be used to blindside Derek X. Big Brother 23 airs Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8/7 Central on CBS.
