Big D made the final three of ‘Big Brother 23’

A part of The Cookout since the first couple of days in the house, Derek “Big D” Frazier remained protected during the first several weeks.

To guarantee his protection and keep the heat off his alliance, he closely aligned with his Jokers’ teammates, Brandon “Frenchie” French, Britni D’Angelo, and another Cookout member, Azah Awasum.

Besides getting nominated a couple of times as a pawn, no one targeted Big D, considering him an easy person to win against in the final two. During the first couple of weeks, he made a final three with Xavier Prather and Kyland Young and separate pacts with each of them, which protected him when The Cookout had to disband.

When it came down to the final four, Xavier kept Big D safe by winning Head of Household and Power of Veto, giving him the sole vote to evict Kyland. If given a choice, Big D would like to sit next to Xavier in the end, believing he has no chance against Azah.

He hasn’t won any competitions

Despite making it to the final three, Big D hasn’t won a competition. He never became HOH which frustrated him as he thought the challenges weren’t set up for someone of his size to win.

However, Big D also didn’t perform well in mental competitions. The former Joker competed in eight POV competitions throughout the series and didn’t win any.

He might have had a chance to earn the Week 7 Veto, but he knew he had safety and took the opportunity to go for the cash prizes. Therefore, Big D chose to walk away with the money instead of taking the punishments in exchange for the medallion.

The Cookout member also competed in the High Rollers Room twist for the Coin of Destiny, allowing the winner to overturn nominations. However, he threw it as his ally Tiffany Mitchell was HOH at the time.

Dr. Will Kirby previously won without winning any competitions before finale night

In 2001, Dr. Will Kirby first appeared on Big Brother 2, where he had a close alliance with Mike “Boogie” Malin and showmance with Shannon Dragoo, together Chilltown.

However, after their early evictions, he maneuvered from week to week using extravagant strategies. Dr. Will remained in the house by convincing the other houseguests he would stay the target and get nominated over them. He also didn’t care about winning competitions, noting he considered it a social game and didn’t see the point.
