Big Brother 23 has a big alliance influencing the game. That would be The Cookout and other houseguests are ignorant of them until it’s too late. Christian Birkenberger explained why the reveal blew his mind.

[Spoiler alert: Spoilers for the Big Brother 23 episode that aired on Aug 12!]

The Cookout made an agreement at the start of ‘Big Brother 23’

The houseguests hit the ground running at the beginning of the season. Kyland Young, Xavier Prather, Tiffany Mitchell, Derek Frazier, Azah Awasum made the agreement to not go after each other. They later included Hannah Chaddha.

They all have the common goal of trying to have the first Black Big Brother winner this season. But to go undetected they don’t all meet at the same time. They also haven’t worked as a regular alliance by making targets together. Instead, they have worked with their teams and it has mostly worked out for them.

The Cookout has managed to make it to the jury together, and the teams are over. Tiffany has also come up with a plan for most of the members to have a partner outside of The Cookout that could be used on the block to get evicted instead.

Christian was the latest person to get evicted from the house. He was working closely with Xavier because they started on Team Kings. He has learned about the alliance and shared his reaction.

The Cookout has continued to stay under the radar but Julie Chen Moonves has been revealing them to evicted houseguests. Christian gave his reaction to the alliance to Entertainment Weekly.

“I know now!” he said. “I didn’t know walking out of the house. Apparently, there’s this thing called a Cookout or something like that? And I have never seen in my life that group of people in one room ever, ever, ever, ever.”

He continued, “And that’s what blows my mind because they are doing a fantastic job. And I believe they had a part in influencing every single decision that’s being made in this house, including mine. And in hindsight, they probably were behind every single decision. So they’re doing a great job.”

The remaining houseguests have officially made it to jury. There is now Britini D’Angelo, Derek Xiao, Claire Rehfuss, Alyssa Lopez, Sarah Steagall left who are outside of The Cookout.

There is a chance of the dynamics in the house changing if one of them wins, but given the numbers are four to six and each member of The Cookout has influence over them that is very unlikely.
