Eilish grew up in a musical family, with both parents working in entertainment and her brother and longtime collaborator, Finneas O’Connell, having a band. She got an early introduction to music when she started singing in church when she was only 10. Eilish began writing songs by the age of 11.

O’Connell encouraged his sister to pursue her dreams and continue making music. In 2015, he partnered with his sister to record “She’s Broken” and “Fingers Crossed” and uploaded them to SoundCloud.

Later that year, Eilish released what would be her breakthrough song, “Ocean Eyes.” The song was written and produced by O’Connell, who had created it for his band before realizing Eilish would be a better fit.

The song drew several hundred listens on SoundCloud within a few weeks, and O’Connell’s manager reached out to discuss the rising star’s potential. The following year, Eilish got a publicist, who connected her with the fashion label Chanel, and a stylist, who helped revamp the singer’s image.

“Ocean Eyes” catapulted Eilish into mainstream media, and her sound intrigued media executives who couldn’t get enough of her. The artist proved she wasn’t a one-hit-wonder by releasing “Bad Guy” in 2019. The song made her even more famous and introduced the world to her and her brother’s talent.

Eilish has since released several other hits, including “Everything I Wanted,” “Therefore I Am,” and “My Future.” She and her brother also partnered on the soundtrack for Daniel Craig’s James Bond exit movie, No Time to Die, which earned the siblings Golden Globe and Grammy awards.

The meaning behind Billie Eilish’s Blosch logo necklace

Billie Eilish has a visual identity composed of two parts: a logo that remains unchanged and a wordmark that gets a redesign anytime she releases a new album. The logo has a deep meaning.

The graphic symbol, also known as Blosch, features a gender-neutral stick figure slightly slanted with its abstract head tilted to the left on its diagonal shoulder line. According to 1000 Logos, the symbol changes color but is often drawn in yellow or acid-green colors, representing the singer’s rebellious spirit and strong energy.

The stick figure has made its way into the singer’s music videos and edgy streetwear. Her clothing line is also usually referred to as Blosch.

Eilish has been spotted wearing a silver-toned Blosch logo necklace, including at the 2020 Grammys, where she collected five golden gramophones. The pendant has become so popular that many retailers sell knockoffs.
