After getting to know each other, the reality stars became an official couple while in paradise. However, their union didn’t last long because a month after the show concluded in September 2019, Adams and Jones announced their split.

Tayshia Adams and John Paul Jones fell in love during season 6 of ‘BiP’

After falling for and ultimately getting her heart broken by former football player Colton Underwood during his season of The Bachelor, it wasn’t long before Adams was given another chance to find love again.

Last summer, the former phlebotomist appeared on Season 6 of the hit reality competition series, Bachelor in Paradise. It was there, she met Jones, who fans were first introduced to on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette

From the beginning, it was clear Adams and Jones had a connection, but just like all great love stories, they’re budding romance with met with a fair share of drama.

During the season, Adams was involved in a love triangle with Jones and fellow BiP contestant Derek Peth. However, Adams ended up choosing Jones in the end, and they stayed together for most of the season.

During the last episode, Jones professed his love for Adams on the beach, but she was unable to reciprocate those feelings. After the two shared their final goodbyes, Jones left Adams crying in paradise.

The couple split a month after rekindling their romance

The pair’s relationship seemed to be over once Jones left paradise. But in a surprising twist, Adams and Jones reconciled after she flew out to his home in Maryland to ask if he’d be willing to give their relationship another try.

“I talked to my mom about it and I decided I wanted to go after him,” she said during the Bachelor in Paradise reunion show. “I’m a bold girl.”

To fans, it seemed like Adams and Jones finally got the happily ever after they deserved. However, just six weeks after rekindling their romance in Maryland, Adams and Jones announced their split.

“We truly did the best we could, but at this time have decided that what is best for the both of us is to go our separate ways,” Adams wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post. “We are the best of friends and will continue to remain in each other’s life because regardless of the situation, we make each other happy.”

In November 2019, Adams explained the reasoning behind her split from Jones during an episode of the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast.

“I would never badmouth John. We both have our flaws. I think communication is a really big deal,” she said. “I learned from a previous relationship that I’m very much so over communicative, but that’s all I can do. What he can do is listen to that and try to navigate that relationship with that information I’m giving him. If you’re choosing to have that stuff go in one ear and out the other, that’s on you.”

She also cited their age difference as another factor that led to the demise of their relationship.

Are Tayshia Adams and John Paul Jones friends?

The same month Adams opened up about their breakup, sources told Us Weekly that JPJ was “not thrilled about Tayshia publicly airing her grievances on a podcast.”

The insider also claimed that “JPJ broke up with Tayshia” — not the other way around.

While it sounded like things were a little rocky between the exes, both have since moved on from the drama and are currently focused on their own lives.

In January 2020, Jones was spotted on a date with model Victoria Rose Strehlow at Malibu Farm in California. Though the two looked pretty cozy while posing for Instagram pics, it doesn’t seem like their relationship turned into anything serious.

As for Adams, she’s been brought on to replace Clare Crawley on season 16 of The Bachelorette, according to multiple sources.

While the exes haven’t been spotted together since their split, things between them seem to be copacetic as Jones recently expressed his happiness about Adam’s journey as the new bachelorette.

“I’m really happy and excited for her on this new journey,” he told Us Weekly. “I hope she finds the love and happiness that she deserves.”
