They don’t wanna love nobody but each other. Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are reportedly not planning on having a long engagement or a big wedding.

The couple announced their engagement on Instagram in October, sharing a sweet photo of them kissing with Stefani flashing her diamond ring. The couple has been together since 2015, and reportedly chose now to get engaged because they are ready to tie the knot quickly. And according to reports, those plans are already underway.

Stefani and Shelton’s engagement seemed inevitable. The couple has been visibly happy together for the last five years, being able to maintain a balance between their private life and public life as co-workers on The Voice. On top of their NBC gig, they also have released music together and had a house built in California.

Shelton has also formed a good relationship with Stefani’s three sons, whom she shares with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. It was Kingston, 14, Zuma, 12, and Apollo, 6, whom Shelton talked to before popping the question to the No Doubt alum.

“Blake told her boys that he wanted to propose and asked their permission,” a source close to Stefani told People. “Her family very much approves of him. He’s an amazing partner and a great extra dad to the boys. Gwen is ecstatic. The proposal was a surprise.”

Shelton and Stefani got engaged this year for a reason

After five years of a happy life together, a source close to the couple says they’re simply ready to label themselves husband and wife.

“This won’t be a long engagement,” the source told People. “There is a reason why Blake proposed now. They are both ready to get married.”

The source notes that they “don’t want a huge wedding. They want their family and close friends to attend and that’s it.”

Their small ceremony could very well take place before the new year rings in, with the possibility of a bigger party once COVID-19 is no longer an issue.

“Blake and Gwen are thinking about doing a couple of things, both intimate and a big party with friends down the line after COVID is done with for their wedding plans,” a source previously told Hollywood Life. “They want family and friends to be involved in their big day, but there is obviously details changing day in and day out. They are busy working right up until Christmas but they have thought of possibly doing something at the end of the year with themselves and close family.”

As for where they could have this small ceremony, they have a couple of options at their disposal. They could always take the City Hall route, or the classic Las Vegas wedding chapel like David Harbour and Lily Allen did in September. But they also have a private chapel on their ranch in Oklahoma.

“He felt that [the chapel] was the perfect place to propose because it has so much meaning to the both of them,” another insider told Hollywood Life. “Gwen loves the chapel so much, and she even has a necklace with a charm of the chapel that she wears often.”

Love is certainly in the air for these two. No doubt, their fans are eagerly awaiting the news of their upcoming vows.
