When Netflix released the reality series, Bling Empire, people were immediately hooked. Set in Los Angeles, the series chronicles the lives of the affluent Asian community known for their lavish parties, shopping habits, and trips. The eight-episode first season followed Christine and Dr. Gabriel Chiu, billionaire Kane Lim, entrepreneur Kelly Mi Li, narrator Kevin Taejin Kreider, former pop singer Chèrie Chan, and her trust fund boyfriend Jessey Lee, DJ Kim Lee, fashion influencer Jamie Xie, hairstylist Guy Tang and of course, heiress Anna Shay.

Though Chan and Lee were welcoming their second child, there was some tension between the couple about marriage. So are they finally married?

Netflix has renewed ‘Bling Empire’ for Season 2

Hopefully, we will be seeing more of Anna Shay and the entire case in the near future. Though they have not yet announced a release date, Netflix has announced that Bling Empire will be returning for season 2.

Though Netflix has not yet announced the returning cast or any new cast members, they have released the official synopsis for Season 2. It reads,

Bling Empire follows a wildly wealthy group of Asian and Asian American friends (and frenemies) in Los Angeles. While their days and nights are filled with fabulous parties and expensive shopping sprees, don’t let the glitz and glamour fool you. Between running multi-billion dollar businesses and traveling the world, these friends are as good at keeping secrets as they are at spilling them. And there is certainly no shortage of secrets.

Are ‘Bling Empire’s Chèrie Chan and Jessey Lee married?

Though they have two young children and Chan was grieving the loss of her mother and desperately wanted to be married, Lee did not have marriage at the forefront of his mind. However, at the end of Bling Empire Season 1, Chan proposed marriage to a seemingly taken aback Lee who begrudgingly accepted.

In late August 2021, almost a year after Bling Empire aired, the couple had a more traditional proposal with Lee proposing to Chan at Paris’ Cheval Blanc hotel which is not yet open to the public. “Although Chérie had proposed to me, I’m glad I got to propose to her now. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do but the timing wasn’t right,” Lee told People.

“I was very, very shocked, I thought we were just doing a private tour, but Jessey shut down the whole museum for me,” Chan says. “And the special painting is something that I’ll always hold dear to my heart. We finally feel engaged. And we are ready to plan the wedding now. Thank you for everyone’s support.”

Chèrie Chan and Jessey Lee won’t be in ‘Bling Empire’ Season 2

Unfortunately for Bling Empire fans, we won’t be witnessing Chan and Lee’s wedding on Netflix. The couple has decided not to return for Bling Empire Season 2. Though the pair said they would always cherish their experiences on Bling Empire, they’ve decided to step back and focus on their family.

“I can’t believe I have fans!” Chan previously told The Sun. “It’s tough. As a mom I’m really worried about the kids. It’s stressful being a mom. It’s great, but it comes with a lot of mom wanting to protect her child. I had no idea it was going to be this big!”
