As a contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs. the World, Blue made RuPaul laugh with her Austin Powers/Dr. Evil Snatch Game performance. She later shocked viewers with her elimination choice. After weeks of spirited competition, the drag queen snatched the crown and the title of “Queen of the Mother-Tucking World.”

“The episode went up at nine, and I skipped right to the end, sat beside my mom and boyfriend,” Hydrangea said during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “Once I knew I’d won, I slipped to the back of my local bar where I started drag and watched them all react. The atmosphere was amazing because I already knew that I’d won.”

As part of the prize, Hydrangea was featured on a remixed version of RuPaul’s song “Champion.” Of course, she also solidified her place among the Drag Race winners across the franchise, including Bianca Del Rio, Trixie Mattel, Priyanka, and Monét X Change. With Blu being a Drag Race fan herself, this win took on extra significance.

Blu Hydrangea met several ‘Drag Race’ queens as a fan

Dreams come true on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Before she was dubbed the “Queen of the Mother-Tucking World,” Blu Hydrangea was a superfan of this reality series, even attending meet-and-greets with Drag Race alumni.

In 2015, “Baby Blu” met Alaska 5000, the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 2 and a fan-favorite contestant on season 5. Blu posted the picture in 2019, earning thousands of likes from RuPaul’s Drag Race UK viewers.

Following her “Queen of the Universe” crowning, the winner shared a picture of herself and Jujubee, captioning it, “I won a competition six years ago to perform at @jujuboston’s show! Now we’re besties.”

The post received several comments from fans, noting how special Blu Hydrangea’s Drag Race journey was. Even Silky Nutmeg Ganache wrote that this was a “full circle” moment. The drag performer replied, “It feels like that every time I meet a legend like you!”
