‘Blue Bloods’ Fans are Hoping for a Spinoff
“Blue Bloods” has been on CBS since 2010. Fans love the show so much they’re hoping there will be a spinoff, similar to how “The Big Bang Theory” resulted in “Young Sheldon.” Here’s what fans on Reddit said they would like to see if “Blue Bloods” ever became a spinoff.
Fans suggest Jamie and Eddie for a spinoff show
Fans of newlyweds Jamie Reagan (Will Estes) and Eddie Janko (Vanessa Ray) would be happy to see a show about the couple’s daily life. It wouldn’t be far-fetched to see an entire series about Jamie and Eddie since there have been a few scenes focusing on their adjustment as a married couple. It would be interesting to see how their jobs and their new relationship status affect their union. Will the cop life form a wedge between Jamie and Eddie? Will they start a family and live happily ever after? Fans want to know more about these two.
Fans don’t want to see a show focused on Erin or Nicky
It seems like most fans aren’t on board with a spinoff focused on Erin or Nicky. In past Reddit threads, “Blue Bloods” fans have complained about these characters, saying they’re annoying and don’t add much to show. Based on fan reactions, it’s safe to say it’s unlikely there will be a spinoff about Erin or Nicky’s life.
Not too long ago, fans took to Reddit to complain about Nicky, saying the acting wasn’t all that great. This “Blue Bloods” fan explains what some viewers find annoying. “She’s one of the most annoying characters I’ve ever seen on television. Part of what causes it—to me at least—is the fact that the actress is so bad. Nicky has the same facial expressions and half open mouth no matter what super dramatic thing she’s complaining about or what drama she’s trying to stir. It’s awful.”
Some think ‘Blue Bloods’ should be cancelled
For some “Blue Bloods” fans, the show has arrived at its expiration date. They are not excited about the thought of a spinoff. One fan said “Blue Bloods” has turned into a soap opera and there aren’t any spinoff ideas that would make the show worth watching. Here’s what this Redditor thinks about the state of the show:
A drama show that totally went to the ranks of a daytime soap opera. A husband and wife that are always arguing. The golden boy that thinks he’s always right and doesn’t want to be reprimanded. The whole family arguing at the table. What happened to the crime drama?
Is ‘Blue Bloods’ becoming predictable?
Other fans say “Blue Bloods” is becoming predictable and lacks the crime drama it’s known for. A Redditor says he can easily predict what will happen in each episode:
There’s no crime drama. Five minutes into a new case the perp shows up all innocent-like wondering what happened, Donny suspects that person, and case solved. Yeah, there’s some spinning of wheels and faux investigations to pad the show, but the drama is well over. Tweedle-dee, Tweedle-dum, and Tweedle-miss will advise big boss man with some trumped-up police issue, good ol’ folksy wisdom will solve it. Then we have bickering at Sunday dinner, Miss High-n-Mighty spouts high and mighty stuff, food is passed in silence, and soon angry faces turn to laughing faces. Cue end credits.
