Bruce Lee’s son, Brandon Lee, took after his famous father. He was also a martial artist and fight choreographer, but sadly, he died at just 28 years old due to an accident on the set of The Crow.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the first article about Lee’s death was released on April 1, 1993. The article explained “a small explosive charge used to simulate gunfire went off inside a grocery bag during filming” of the movie. Later on, another report noted Lee died via “a .44-caliber bullet” that was lodged in his spine.

Ultimately, Lee’s mother, Linda Lee Cadwell, filed a lawsuit regarding the incident. The lawsuit detailed how Lee died when a co-star fired blank ammunition, which “propelled” a “lethal obstruction” into Lee’s abdomen. The obstruction was “lodged in the barrel of the gun during the filming of another scene several weeks earlier.” The case was ruled an accident.

Bruce Lee’s son’s family reacted via Twitter after Alec Baldwin’s prop gun incident. Brandon Lee’s sister reportedly released a tweet from his official Twitter account.

“Our hearts go out to the family of Halyna Hutchins and to Joel Souza and all involved in the incident on Rust,” Fox News reports the tweet reads. “No one should ever be killed by a gun on a film set. Period.”

Brandon Lee’s Twitter account has nearly 20,000 followers in 2021. And many fans reacted to the tweet with additional condolences to all those affected by what occurred on the set of Rust.
